HELP Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise hotel recommendation.

We're sailing 3/17/07 on Liberty out of Ft. Lauderdale, I have booked the Red Carpet Inn. I posted a question about this motel and the feedback I received made me a little apprehensive, only one eatery within walking distance (a bar & grill). The response really made me rethink my choice. I picked this motel because they would pick us up at the airport and deliver us to the port the next day. The only response received said that they waited for 1 hour to be picked up after calling a few times and the staff at the front desk was rude. I hope this is changed, if not does anyone have a recommendation?
Please help me!

Hi Jean,

I've seen some very bad reviews about the Red Carpet Inn (email me if you want the link).

We've stayed at the LaQuinta in Hollywood, FL. They offer an airport to hotel shuttle and a shuttle to the pier and we had no problems. The room was clean, the price was reasonable and the people were friendly. They also have a free breakfast.

If I were you, I'd definitely rethink the Red Carpet Inn  !

If I were you I'd cancel immediately. Check out the reviews on www.tripadvisor.com. There aren't many positive ones.

I posted the negative review of Red Carpet response. The staff were not as much rude as not giving a care, for what it's worth.
Anyway, I think Jean Chigas did correct to change motels. I learned my lesson !
