Default Carnivals vacation club

I just came off the Valor, and sat for two hours listening to a presentation on Carnivals vacation club , I was about to buy into it when I found out it was run through the same people that do Sea miles, Ice gallery, and Junipor bank, so we opted out, as I just had a bad experience with them, on this cruise, and boy did that nice guy Ryan develope an attitude, he did not even give us our free gift for attending, so everone beware.!!!
I found out later from someone that insisted on their free gift it was only a cupon that was going to cost you a lot of money to use .

Sorry you had such a bad experience. We joined on the Pride in 2005 and then booked a cruise on the Pride the following year using our points. The VIP check in was wonderful as were the additional cocktail parties and non stop champange. They were able to book us into the Spa and Supper Club when there were "no reservations available. We love it and are booked on a cruise with one of our sons and his wife this Sept. So far everything has been great.

The bottom line is that it costs a minimum of $3,500.00. At 25 cents per point you end up paying more for the cruise but you do get VIP Check In and Debarkation (and hit and miss on the welcome stuff in your cabin) on all Carnival cruises, parties only on the ships that have an ICE office on board and nothing if you use your points on any other cruise line.

The only thing to be aware of is that it is illegal to purchase this program if you are a resident of South Carolina (their State Attorney General designated it was a scam) and 18 other states do not allow you to "rent" (buy) extra points, so if you live in one of those states you could be stuck with leftover points.

All the other "fluff" ($299 resort stays) have proven to be limited at best and not 5 star as advertised. These same deals can be gotten my anyone off the street (without paying $3,500.00 for the priviledge) so should not be put into your decision equation.

All that being said, if someone wants VIP badly enough to pay for it...this is an option. But that should be the only deciding factor and nothing else.

You are correct. Sea Miles, CVC and ICE are all the same thing. And based on personal experience, not people I would do business with.

We are SOUTH CAROLINA residents and we are a member of CVC. Yes Atty. General Henry McMaster has made it illegal for SC residents to join we found a way around it by using some property we have in NC and used that address. Then we simply changed the address to our SC address once the paper work was filled out. We love the CVC and have been very pleased with them (I wish I could say the samething about the Sea Miles Card). The CVC staff and perks are great. We have taken 2 cruises since becoming a member and what we really like is that we can apply our member benefits to our friends and family that travel with us. We just got off the Glory in January and CVC allowed them to do VIP boarding with us, got them into the SPA, and got us all better tables in the Dinning Room. All around CVC has great service!

Sorry, but that was the very first "red flag" about CVC. We had a huge group from SC on our Spirit cruise and all were encouraged to use this kind of deceit. Circumventing the law is not what I would call a good business practice. I certainly would not want to do business with anyone who believes they are above the law.

Unfortunately, 75% of the people who have purchased CVC are livid about being lied to. Many have wanted to file a class action lawsuit but were told that the contract they signed is ironclad...except for a lady from South Carolina who got all her money back because they had knowning broken the law by selling to her.

So while I am glad you are happy with your purchase, others need to be aware of the facts and the kind of people they are dealing with.

I Live in N.H., and the small print the contract stated that we were not able to buy any more points once we got home, so we were told to call and change our address, to someone els's then change it back again . another red flag.

Let me ask those that do love it, how early were you off the ship, and did you have to take your own luggage, that was the number one reason I wanted it. Everything els, I could do without.

We were the first group off the ship and no we did not carry our luggage. However we were on a ship that had a Vacation Club on board. This meant that we waiting in the Butterfly Lounge with Coffee, juice and pastries and then were escorted off the ship.
