How long did it take you to receive your passports? My trop is late July, so my son and I are planning to take our new passport photos and birth certificates to the post office in a week. I've heard it takes 2 months to receive your passports when you go through the post offices. Is that true?

When I went to apply for mine they told me it normally takes 4-6 weeks, but recently has been taking up to 8 weeks.
I didn't have that much time, so I chose to expedite it (for an extra $60) and received it in about 9 days!
Hope this helps!

I turned mine in on the 12th of January and expected delivery date is now the 28th of March. At first they said the end of Feb, then the first week of March, now it is the end of March. Don't wait much longer. There are sooooo many people getting theirs that they obviously don't have enough help in processing all of them in a timely manner. I would do it SOON.

DEFINITELY give your self as much time as possible With all the new rules, the Passport Agency is backed up.... By a lot. They do say 4-6 weeks, i think mine took 4 weeks, but that was 1 year ago.

In otherwords... DO IT NOW or pay the extra for expedited.

The DOS just put up a notice on their website stating that the routine turnaround time is now 10 weeks + and the expidited turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.

I was scheduled to recieve mine this week but got bumped to April 12, that's 12 weeks from my date of app.

I applied for my wife's passport on March 31 with expedited service.

Today was the first day that the system recognized it.

Hopefully it will come soon.

I ended up going to the post office on March 24th, and got expedited service, and received our passports 2 weeks later. Chicago must be fast. Go figure!

Ours was normal processing. At the time of mailing wait time was suppose to be 4 to 6 weeks. Quickly after that it turned into 9 weeks. The web address I got from here really helped in tracking them and knowing when they were mailed.

What is the web address that gave details? All I see from the site is a confirmation number.

Thanks,

Brian

Your right. When I first used it. The site gave you an estimated time to expect delivery of your passport. Now it only changes after the passport has been shipped. I did call the phone number twice and spoke to them. It's a call center that forwards an email onto the processing center if your running out of time. She was able to give me a pretty good estimate on when my daughters would be sent to me. It's exciting to see the words change to your passport has been shipped. We are now ready to sail Saturday.
