Excursions in Freeport Bahamas
We are cruising in June on the Liberty with a party of 7 including teenagers, singles, & a 5 year old. It doesn’t seem like there is much to do in Freeport besides shop at the Lucaya Market place. We were going to book the excursion via Carnival Cruise lines for $21.00 a person but then I started thinking…..are they charging me $21.00 a person just for the travel to & from the Lucaya Market place? Is it worth it? How much can a taxi to & from the Lucaya Market place cost per person? Any one out there know? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Re: Excursions in Freeport Bahamas
Just got back from there, a taxi ride from cruise ship area to Lucaya will cost $5 per person each way. There are shops, food, casino, and the beach. That's where most people go while in Freeport. There is an area to the left of the beach where you can rent jet ski's, go parasailing, take a banana boat ride. http://www.oceanmotionbahamas.com/
p.s. there is a public restroom near the beach for changing, rinsing off etc.
as you are walking to the beach you will see a winding swimming pool to your left, walk along the pool, the restrooms are in a small cinder block building painted white.
I'm going there on Sensation in late July with my teenage son, we're going to do the glass bottom boat ride over the coral reefs.
When are you sailing in July?
We head out on the Liberty July 1st.
We too have teens, etc. sailing with us.
