Default ACCOMODATIONS IN PORT CANAVERAL

Traveling to Port Canaveral on 2 NOV 07(driving) for a 3 NOV 07 cruise on Glory. What is the status of accomodations and extended parking close to the piers, also is there a shuttel from these facilities to and from the cruise term.

On our last two cruises out of Port Canaveral we stayed at the Raddison At the Port. Nice place...free parking while you are gone on your cruise and free shuttle to and from the terminal. You can reserve a time slot about a week before you get there and they stick to the schedule. Very dependable. Unfortunately, due to it s popularity. it seems the rates keep climbing. There may be a cheaper place somewhere.

The hotels that allow you to park while cruising are usually priced higher. Parking at the cruise terminal is 12.00 per day. You can find hotels close to the port for reasonable rates and then just park at the terminal. We stayed at Luna Sea Motel on A1A for about 65.00 and then just paid to park at port terminal. It worked out cheaper than staying at one of the hotels that let you park while cruising. It's a matter of what you want to pay for. There are lots and lots of hotels close to port. You will find something.

I'm thinking of staying at either Hampton Inn or EconoLodge in Cocoa/Cocoa Beach since I can get a decent discount for these hotels through work. Does anyone have any information on either of these hotels and whether or not they have shuttles to the pier?

And also Enterprise car rental? Do they run shuttles to the pier? I can get a small car with them for about $35/day, so it would be cheaper for us to rent a car from Orlando to Cape Canaveral if there is a good way to drop the car off before the cruise.

According the the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach website, they offer on site parking for cruise passengers with a shuttle to and from the port at $5 pp each way. My dh and I will probably stay here before our 4/22 Sensation cruise. Can't beat the free stay using Hilton Honors points.

I recommend the Radisson at the Port. I have stayed there twice prior to cruises and have no complaints.

We stayed at the Radisson at the Port before our cruise on the Glory. The pool was beautiful and the free hot buffet breakfast was very nice. We were on the shuttle to the port within about 5 minutes of what we had reserved.

We are cruising on the Glory 11/3/07 and will be staying at the Radisson Resort at the Port. My TA said it was a nice place and it gets good reviews.

Default I would recommend the Radisson too!

I AM A REAL PERMITTED/INSURED DRIVER NOT THE OWNER OF A TRANSPORTATION COMPANY!!!!! (I am on the drivers manifest at Port Canaveral and permitted by The City of Orlando)

I always recommend to people who haven't finalized flight plans or arranged to transfer to the port terminals to try to come down the day before and stay at the "Radisson at the Port" The shuttle buses they use are newer and clean as well as large so you shouldn't find yourself crammed in like sardines (even if it is a short ride - It's a vacation!)

- I do however believe that renting a car is not as good as getting private transportation to the hotel and back from the cruise to the airport.

Even if you get a car for $35.00 a day and you return it the same day, you have to replace gas at about $2.50 a gallon = about $10 bucks for the trip one way plus the time spent riding shuttles to and from the rental car location (at the airport some are onsite.)
Rental car = more work than just walking to a curb and having a professional driver load/unload your luggage and take you right to the door of the hotel and pick you up right when you walk off the ship.
- 2 people alone maybe it would be worth it... But you would only save maybe $50.00 over the cost of roundtrip private transfers and you would have to do all the work to make it happen.....

You decide! I think that getting down a day before you go on your cruise thought gives you a chance to get better prepared and get any last minute things you may find you need.... (prescriptions, sunblock/tanning oil sunglasses hehehe - Walgreens is about 1 1/2 miles from the Radisson - I know I've brought quite a few people there!)

I have to admit ... my job has a great perk~! 99.999999% of the people I encounter in my line of work are in a good mood - On their way to -or- from a CRUISE!

You can find the company I work for here:
http://orlando-airport-shuttles.com

- or you call 1-866-351-9991 - Ttell them that you read this post on Cruisemates and that it was written by Mr. Sandman
- MY REAL NAME IS PAUL SANDMAN

I have been driving Vans and Town Cars for Orlando Transportation & Tours Inc. for almost 2 years now. I personally have transferred probably about
- 7000 people. (5 transfers of 14 people per week = 70 people per week x 52weeks = 3640 people a year x2!)

We booked the Radisson at the Port on recommendations of friends who always park their car their and get shuttled to the port. They are charging us 165.00 for the room which includes the four days we are on the ship for our car to park there.

WE GOT THE ROOM WITH THE PARKING INCLUDED FOR $109 YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THAT BECAUSE FOR THE PARKING ALONE AT THE CRUISE TEMINAL WOULD COST $84 SO REALLY YOUR ONLY PAYING $25 FOR THE ROOM WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT. AND THEY OFFER FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO THE CRUISE TERMINAL.HOPE THIS HELPD

Watch your room price. We paid $165 which included room overnight, tax and parking the car for the four nights of our cruise which is on April 29. It sounds like to me you got only the room for the $109.00. The cruise package where you get the room and the parking of your car costs more than what you paid. My friends stay at the Radison all the time and they were the ones who said watch & make sure you pay for the cruise package room and parking and not for the room only. Check your reservation with the desk and I bet the room is $109 and that does not include the parking in the back lot for the duration of the cruise. I understand that parking for cruises is not allowed all over the lot & there is an area that is set aside for long term cruise ship parking only.

Besides the Hampton Inn and Radisson at the Port are there any other hotels that allow parking while you cruise? I've tried to do a search on hotels that allow parking, but not having much luck. Thanks.

There is a Country Inn right next to the Residence Inn and Raddison. I stayed there on March 2nd. We paid ( after taxes ) $132. Thats 119.00 plus taxes and the shuttle was 3pp each way. Still worked out better.

If you book there, tell Roger that Tim from Brooksville said hello.

Very nice people.

Ro,
I also just booked 2 rooms at the Raddison and made sure to ask is the shuttle and parking were included and they said yes, so you better double check, they also charged us $109.00 for the one night.

RO,
I JUST DOBLE CHECKED AND IT OS $109 WITH PARKING AND SHUTTLE. I WOULD CALL AND FIND OUT. WHEN I CALLED I ASKED WHAT ARE THE HOT DEALS BECAUSE IT HAS SOMETHING ABOUT HOT DEALS ON THE WEBSITE AND THATS WHEN SHE GAVE ME THE RATE OF $109 BUT EVEN BEFORE I ASKED ABOUT THAT SHE GAVE ME A RATE OF $125 FOR SHUTTLE AND PARKING. SO IF I WAS YOU I WOULD CALL AND SEE BECAUSE $165 AND $109 ARE A BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE.

I did some more searching today and have found about 10 hotels in the area that have the park and cruise program. I was looking for something along the line of a suite since there will be us and one other couple and thought it would be nice for each couple to have their own bedroom, but be together. I think we will end up just sharing a double room and spliting the cost though. Prices range from about 100.00 to over 200.00. There is one place that offers a pre and post cruise special. If you book before and after your return night is upgrades to a suite with jacuzzi. Now I just have to remember which place that was..........

I have a saturday ck in for a room directly in front of the pool. The price is 149.00 with tax. I am told the month and the day you are staying makes a difference which I know is true as I live in Florida and stay at different times of the year. What months are you are staying at the Radisson?

OK thanks to you all I re-read my reservation. I am now paying 129.00 to be exactly on the 1st floor across from the pool. I asked them what is the hot deal for 109.00 and she said it is any room any where in the hotel any floor. I got the room that I needed directly across from the pool on the first floor due to needing knee replacements and not being able to walk much. I couldn't take the chance of getting placed on the higher floors. Gee I sound like I am 80 yrs old but I am not. Thanks again for bringing room prices to my attention. The expensive room I had booked first was for internet connection which I do not need.

Ro,
I am glad you recieved a better rate and the exact room you needed. That's why I really like this website. You get some helpful info on it. We are staying at the Raddison April 27th. When are you? Have a great time on your cruise.

Thats the last time I listen to people who say they have stayed there. I got wrong info from them and correct info from you all!
The extra money I was being charged was for a room with internet connection not for cruise parking. I am not taking a computer laptop with me so I do not need that extra expense. Boy am I native listening to peepsI know tell me stuff. I want to say thanks to you all for the education of the lower room price at least I changed it a little lower which will help expenses. Now I just have to hope they give me a first floor room that I can manage. To all of you that have stayed there before is the walk where you park your car for the cruise parking far away from the door of the hotel. I am afraid to ask my friends in fear I get the wrong answer again.

Ro, my husband was the one to park the car and he said it was i little far but I think if you talk to them at the desk they will help you out, they are very nice there, and when they bring you back from the ship they take you straight to the parking lot so just have them stop by your car.

The Radisson at the Port seems to be the #1 place to stay. Anyone out there stayed at the Holiday Inn Express or Comfort Inn & Suites? There are a lot of places that offer cruise & park deals, some cheaper than the Radisson. Just wondering if anyone has stayed at one of the other places and how was it.
