Default Glory cabin amenities?

I know the showers have shampoo and bath soap, dish in bath with asst. things. What else do the balcony cabins come with? Hair dryers, etc? I don't want to take things I don't need. I've read to take a bungee cord to keep balcony door open, what size? They come in about 2 dozen different sizes from small to huge. Last time I took so many things that were suggested and never used them I want to try and pack lighter this time

Floridanamaw;
We used a 12" cheap bungee cord and this worked fine. There is also a door wedge that is used by the cabin steward that will work fine. It is in the cabin all of the time. It is generally by the front door under your closet. There is a hair dryer in the top drawer that is hard wired. You must bring a power strip, or plug expander, because there is only one outlet in your cabin. We found that we too took too much STUFF. We also took home much more than we brought. I can't think of anything that I did not bring that we needed. Just the opposite.
Hope this helps.
I am sure you will get many more suggestions

We just got off the Glory and we held the door open with the one of the chairs that was on the balcony which seemed to work fine.........I absolutely loved the balcony for quiet time and to just look at the ocean. It was my first cruise and truly loved it.

I took a power strip last time and never even used it. Do we really need one? I don't mind taking it if we really need it. I guess a plug expander would be smaller to carry. Maybe I will take that instead of the strip. Thanks

Floridanamaw;
We took the plug expander it is much smaller and doesn't take up much room. I had my charger for the camera, portable hard drive to download pictues each day, and my electric razor. So we really did need it. I also took one of those small collapsable coolers. I would put my beer and Dt. Coke in it. The refrigerator wasn't that cold, and no way to adjust it. Cabin steward kept it full of ice. It worked great when we wanted to just sit out on our balcony and enjoy. Don't worry too much about these items. They won't make or break a great cruise.

Thanks, I have many of the plug expanders at home so will just take one of those. The cabins have 'frig's in them? I didn't know that. The less I take the better, more room to bring things back with me

Balcony doors are fine if people could learn to close them with out letting them slam...nothing ruins a nice afternoon nap on the balcony like a slamming door time after time after time....lol....anyone else know what i mean?

Mike how was your trip. Get all of the passport issues taken care of? Don't know if you posted anything yet, but would like to hear how things went.

Default mini-Glory post also

Yes Gary, Thanks...passport arrived 1 day before departure....in hindsight..now...I see where we could have done the whole trip without a passport but having it made things move along quicker I think.

The trip in general was very very nice...aside from almost missing my connection in Detroit because it took Northwest in Syracuse an hour and some to change a light bulb on the plane and of course the fella jumping overboard ..which cheated us out of a nice day in Nassau. lol. I know, I know...how selfish of me.

I enjoyed Carnival Glory very much...waiters in Platinum were very good, evening entertainment very enjoyable in the Amber Lounge...Slot Machines were friendly to me...$500 jackpot playing deuces wild. The cabin steward was almost too good....it seemed I couldn't leave or enter my cabin without him being around and one night he went so far as to as "why were we in the cabin? Weren;t we going out?" Didnt like that too much. I thought the food in Platinum was very good with a nice variety to choose from, actually ate there more than I thought I would, it was much nicer than the lines in the Red Sail...altho the food there was very good also. Little difficult on sea days to find a lounge chair, found that people were "saving" their chairs for prolonged periods of time and was tempted to lay in one just to see how long I could go without some one saying it was their chair. Bed in cabin very comfy....lol..coulda slept all day...we had an 6a balcony and as previously stated the only problem was other people letting their doors close very loudly. Our floor had some pretty heavy partyers on it and some evenings it was very loud...but seemed to be the same guy each night. The noise from the casino was muted but it was there...as our cabin seemed to be over a section of it.

I loved Belize...but I had been there before and looked forward very much to going back.

Costa Maya was terrific, we went into Majahual and sat at the "Cat's Meow" and enjoyed grouper and beer and swimming. I'm afraid of what Majahual will look like in 5-10 years time tho.

Cozumel, we chose to rent a jeep and travel on our own. Everyone enjoyed that a lot. Found ourselves at Corona Beach just a short drive outside the city. Small beach run by locals with great snorkeling and nachos and cold beers and friendly service...and not very busy at all.

Nassau, well...cannot say...weren;t there long enough thanks to the midnight swimmer, would love to go back tho and check it out further.

I probably forgot some important things to mention here, but if anyone reading this has a question for me, just let me know.

Mike

Mike;
Sounds like you had a great trip. Too bad about he idiot that jumped ship. Just the luck of the draw. We too loved Belize, it was our favorite port. I think it gets a bad rap as far as being a bad place. Well I am glad things worked out well for you. I look forward to reading more about the trip.

only real problem with Belize is the aggressiveness of the unlicenced tour operators. Otherwise...beautiful beautiful country and people
