Default New To Cruising!!! This is for you!!!

I guess by now you have read about the couple going over board. I am here to tell you, and many others will back me up. YOU CAN NOT FALL OVERBOARD! There are rails all around your ship that are usually up to your chest. In order to go overboard, you will have to climb, or be helped over. It is not like in the movies where the ship tilts and everyone falls off.

Now you know!!!

Aye, Luanne, truer words were NEVER spoken!

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

I just recently returned from the Glory and was on the cruise with the man overboard on that ship and yes it is soooo true, anyone who goes over is doing it intentionally........the railings are high and even when the ship is rocking you wouldn't go over from what I could see. Too bad people let alcohol get them to that state to cause all that grief to the crew as well as their fellow passengers who get inconvenienced by it all.....let alone the cost involved to the taxpayers for the Coast Gaurd who gets called out to assist.

Maybe the Coast Guard needs to charge stupid people for the cost of their rescue. If you have to pay $2500.00 for a cruise and $25,000 to be rescued you may limit your alcohol intake. After all if you start a forest fire you pay the cost of putting it out, if convicted.

Luanne: Like mehawk said, "truer words have never been spoken."

DH and I are baffled as to why people keep jumping off; we can't wait to get on the ship...

What I was thinking - people who have never cruised before are probably thinking about these idiots going into the drink and figuring that it could happen to them at any time and may therefore be put off from this fabulous experience. That is indeed a shame.
