No Liquor card. Just soda cards. Drinks are priced differently. There are also daily specials. You can go to the Carnival web site and by drink coupons, if you would like to prepay. We don't drink enough to take our own, but maybe someone else can help.

You can buy drink coupons at 19.95 for four. I buy bunches of them so my liquor is paid for and have used them for high end liquore, beer buckets, special of the day or any foo foo drinks. I use it as budget defense meaning I like to walk off the ship with NO BILL.

Actually, you can buy a "liquor card". But before you run to the Lido Bar and ask for one, a couple of things you should know:

A] You must be part of an "organized group" who has booked together. I forget what the minimum size is....but I recall it's rather large
B] Everybody in that group must buy one. If anybody says "no", the offer unavailable
C] Cost $40+/day. Only avail. precruise

I don't drink but I have cruised with some people that will take a bottle (or 2) in there suitcase. Just make sure it does not have a metal cap.... I have been told anyway... You can carry pop on, like a 12 or 24 pack... for mixing!

Here are the details of the open bar program. You have to be in a group of at least 30 to participate.

Carnival’s Sail & Sign Open Bar and Wine Program

Carnival’s Sail & Sign Open Bar and Wine Program provides a convenient option to clients that wish to enhance their sailing program as well as to budget and plan their overall cruise experience. This program is only available to guests with special permission from Carnival’s Special Services department and such permission may be withheld for any reason and this program will never apply to individual reservation bookings.

Open Bar and Wine Program
Includes open bar and wine as well as bottled wines at dinner
Inclusive of Gratuities

Open Bar and Wine Program will include all beers, malt beverages, liquors, sodas, small bottles of water, and non-alcoholic beverages priced at or below $7.50.

A selection of fine wines by the glass consisting of sparkling wine, white zinfandel, white wine, and red wine will be offered at all bar locations.

All bottled wines served in the main dining room with dinner will be selected at the discretion of Carnival with both red and white wines being offered each night.

Open Bar and Wine Program is exclusive of drinks over the price of $7.50; any wine by the glass other than those offered in the program; souvenir glass drinks; bottle sales of liquor, wine and/or champagne; large bottles of natural spring water; in-cabin mini bars and/or any other in-cabin beverage program; beverages or drinks ordered through room service; cigars; cookbooks and/or bar books; coffee and/or food items from the Coffee Shop Café; and any retail purchases or service charges.

Two (2) Sail & Sign cards will be issued to each guest. A standard Sail & Sign card will be issued to all group members and will be processed as per Carnival’s established procedures for typical onboard purchases (spa, shopping, casino, shore excursions, etc.). The second specialty “Sail & Sign Open Bar Card? will include the guest’s name and will indicate “For Beverages Only?, and will be in each of the group guest’s cabins upon arrival. This card may be used to purchase the beverages only as outlined above as part of the Open Bar and Wine Program.

The following terms and conditions will apply to the Open Bar and Wine Program:

1. All guests traveling with the group must be 21 years of age or older and all guests must sign up for the Open Bar and Wine Program. If you have friends or family that would like to join you that have guests traveling under 21 or do not wish to participate in the Open Bar and Wine Program, they can book through individual reservations via The Cruise Planner.
2. If any guest chooses not to use the Open Bar and Wine Program after final payment is paid on or before 09/01/07, there will be no credit issued. All guests in each cabin must purchase the Open Bar and Wine Program.
3. If the regular Sail & Sign card is used by mistake to purchase an item covered by the Sail & Sign Open Bar program, no refund will be given.
4. Drinks may not be purchased using the Sail & Sign Open Bar Card for any other guests.
5. If the group does not materialize to 30 or more guests, Carnival reserves the right to cancel the Open Bar and Wine Program.
6. Carnival reserves the right to modify or cancel the Open Bar and Wine Program at any time.
7. The Open Bar and Wine Program is designed for personal drink consumption and is not applicable to private group functions.
8.
