Lou, HIH stands for the "Honey I'm Home" thread under Chit Chat. I'll forgive the ignorant yankee.

And I think it's a fine idea to bring your Dad on a cruise! Such a sweet son!

Carlene...Florida is not a southern state dear! The population of Florida is comprised of frozen yankees and a few Cubans! Therefore, you are a European State.

For further clarification...Southern states include: Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and Texas (if they just insist!). Otherwise the rest (with the exception of Florida) of the states are Yankee states.

I know you are disappointed because you are not "Southern" but we do offer a Southern Conversion Class. The first lesson requires participants to replace you guys and you with the word y'all. The plural form of y'all is all y'all. After you have mastered this, you must spend 8 hours a day in the steam room at the local gym! Work on that and PM me in a week!

Later,
Melody

I have read a few posts about allowing one wine bottle per person. I was planning on taking 2 boxes of wine. Is that ok? I will be checking it in with my luggage and not carrying it on board. I'm leaving on April 14th on the Liberty. Can't wait!!!

Once you are in your cabin it is fine. Your cabin steward works on tips, security does not. It is just getting it passed security at the front.

"....but we do offer a Southern Conversion Class. The first lesson requires participants to replace you guys and you with the word y'all. The plural form of y'all is all y'all "
There are those who make jest at the way we in the South talk, but then these same ones who use the term " you guys" or "yuz guys" or whatever in the heck they say. "Y'all" is gender neutral, for one thing !!
I propose that "y'all" become part of the official queen's standard English.

I'm really new to writing and do much more reading than writing. We went in February and had no problem with 6 bottles of wine and about 18 pops in our suitcase, could have taken more but went over the airport limits. It was our first cruise had fun, I"m getting confused with all of these write ins , have you cruised recently?? My PVP told me I could take up to a case of wine, pop, and water?? I book directly with Carnival, love her and the upgrades we got then and in our new booking in Dec. Are you all talking with a PVP, or just rocking the boat?

dont they have happy hour on carnival? I was talking to someone recently that said they ordered bottles during happy hour and would ask them not to open the bottles and then they took them to thier room. it was 2 for 1 beer..they just bought 6.

Oh and for all you very strange people...ITS COKE...

What kind of coke do you want? Dr pepper please!

I have said soda before, but the only reason i'd say pop is if a firecracker went off nearby.

Melody, what are you doing over here stirring up trouble for? You don't make enough on the HIH thread?

MIL...no you will get your wine...probably at dinner. I think you can preorder gift baskets with a bottle of wine. Talk to your PVP, they can get the complete wine list available.

Nursie is right...it's COKE!

Thoth ...wouldn't that make it so much easier!

Probie, I went through a TA because our group was so large...but the email she sent was sent to her by Carnival. No, I haven't cruised recently, but from what I understand, this is a new rule effective this month. Call your PVP and ask her...then come post here so all of us will know! Thanks!

Michael,
There are some things you just can't talk about on the HIH thread!

Later,
Melody
