My parents did a cruise on a container ship to South America. They were gone for 2 months. The had a nice stateroom (much larger than Carnivals rooms) Lots of down time for reading and playing games. There were three other couples on the ship. They ate meals with the Captain and even had a small pool aboard. They would be in different ports for two or more days so would stay in a hotel and sightsee. They really enjoyed it and was much less $ than a cruise ship.
He had to have surgury on this neck and it left a inch or two worth of stitches. When a couple of my friends asked what happened he told them with a straight face that I stabbed him with a pair of scissors while he was sleeping but that he loves me and has forgiven me. I was so dumb founded I didn't know what to do!

this seems like something I would imagine some young men in their 20's might want to do, I can't imagine us older folks who want nice accomocations, especially if it's $100 per day, which is pretty much what we pay for the nice cruise ships.
i mean if your a huge introvert and want the experience of sea...perhaps its for you. I would have to HATE people, and interaction.
For 700.00 I can almost cruise anywhere for 7 nights on almost any popular cruise line with inside state rooms. I'd get great food (i'm sure much better than what ever cook is down below on the other container ship)..entertainment if i wanted it but most importantly customer service.
Now if your a huge drinker i am betting the container ship lets you pack drinks and soda's lol.
