It"s like everything else. You are not supposed to. Don't know that they will confiscate it but they may. It is a major fire hazard on I ship I guess is the reasoning. Just what I have heard.

Carnival provides full size irons and ironing boards in their laundry rooms to be used should need to iron your clothes. Given that information I can think of no possible benefit to bringing a small travel iron and forcing myself to iron on the floor, counter or bed (which you would likely not attempt with a blow dryer or curling iron) The laundry rooms are a safe place to iron.
If you should ever try another cruise line that does not offer this ammenity and the wrinkles cannpt be removed by using downy wrinkle release spray, you may send them to be pressed for a nominal fee. If I recall, I paid $2.25 each to get a jacket and a dress shirt on one of our cruises last year.

I take a travel steamer. All travel steamers are not created equal. The first one I had looked like an iron and you had to add salt. It wasn't very effective. The one I have in made by Joy Magnano and it works great. I use it at home also. I steam clothes as I get ready to wear them. That way the don't wrinkle in the closet.
