Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach?

Anyone stayed at this hotel? Good or bad? I made reservation for pre-cruise. I can cancel with no penalties if anyone thinks it is not a good place to stay. We have an oceanview, balcony, with free parking, free breakfast and shuttle service to port for about 149.00 with taxes. Since I can canel this one I am still debating about the Radisson. Any reviews from anyone??

I have stayed at both a couple of times. The Radisson is nice, with a great pool and nice rooms...but it can get crowded! The lobby on cruise day was crazy with excited cruisers. Even with designated shuttle times it was chaotic. There was yelling, pushing and almost a fight. One couple we met just took a taxi to the port. Our second time we had rented a car from Budget so we just dropped the car off there and took their free shuttle. I was just there for a class reunion and it was crowed the whole weekend.

Our stay at the Hampton Inn was actually nicer. We had a room on the 8th floor and the way the rooms are situated we had a view of the ocean from the front entry and from our balcony. Their pool is a normal hotel pool, free breakfast and a walkway to the beach. They didn't have the shuttle service when we were there but many took Art's shuttle. We rented a car again so we could look around. Their Concierge us a coupon for a free dessert at a restaurant on Merritt Island (where I grew up in the 60's). We felt like we were the hotel's only guests and they gave us so much attention. It is only 3 miles from the port so it's not that far. There also is an IHOP across the street for a late night snack...hot fudge sundae...ymm.

Thanks. Are the rooms in decent shape? We have friends going that are very picky about smells in rooms. I was trying to not stay at the Radisson because I figured it would be very crowded with people. Hopefully the Hampton Inn won't be to crowded. I don't know what floor we will have, just know I have oceanview with a balcony. Be nice just to sit out on it and enjoy the beach air.
