Depends on how much you drink, what your shopping for, if you spend any time in the casino and if you plan on taking any excursions.

We don't shop and plan our own excursions. We ended up with a bill at the end of the trip for $300 for two of us. DH broke even on the blackjack tables.

I budget $100 per day, more or less and another $100 for transports to and from airports, food at airport. I am moderate slot machine person (never more than $40 a day max for a sea day) and a foo-foo junkie (most I can consume is maybe 5-6 a day and none the next day. I don't do souvenirs except key chains and magnets.

When I budget $100 per day, I usually come home with excess cash.

Happy Cruzin!

i read somewhere that for a cruise 9 days or longer to take at least 350 per person. now i can see me needing 350 and probably more but i am taking my 7 year old son with me and i cant see him spending 350. i dont have to worry about a bar tab ill just buy him a soda card nor do i have to worry about his gambling problem (he usually wins when we play texas hold 'em ). the only worry i have would be the arcades!

If you don't drink or play in the casino, you will only need what you want to do at ports plus tips.. $600 total should be plenty..

You will be bringing more than $50 next week, right
How are you going to buy drinks for everyone with only $50???
Besides Monty says you're loaded.

8 more days.......

You don’t need cash for drinks because they are paid for with your sail and sign card which is usually linked to a credit card. You can use cash for your sail and sign card but I always use a credit card and spend about $100.00 a day for drinks, shore excursions, shopping on the ship, and the spa.

I like to lay blackjack so I always bring a couple of thousand for the casino plus any cash I may need on shore. Don’t forget about tip money. I like to tip my cabin steward, waiter, and assistant waiter with some extra cash above the standard Carnival tips. You also need to tip the porters at the dock .
