New Orleans carnival cruises??

Just recieved a catalog of Carnival - showing Triumph going out of New Orleans. Is that back on??? Are ANY other carnival ships back on out of New Orleans??? :?: :?: Sure would be nice!

Must be an old brochure. Just did a "Find a Cruise" on Carnival's website for April '08, and it's still out of Miami. We get the NO newspaper daily, and there's been nothing in there, or on the local media about another ship. This is usually big news for the city, but, sad to say, haven't heard of anything yet.

It would be great news to see N.O. back on track. Maybe one day soon.

From an 07-08 catalog. Must have printed before the change. :(

I have one of those too Cheryl.

Sorry, just a "mis-print". Although come April 2008, sounds like the Triumph will need to go somewhere to make room for other ships forecasted for that "slot" in Miami.

My mother, sister, and I are going on the Carnival Fantasy out of NO in May. I believe that's the only Carnival ship right now leaving from NO.

Yes the Fantasy is the one and only out of NOLA at this time.

I guess we will just have to be patient. It is a great location to cruise from.

:) They were schedule to dock this summer, but the NOLA hasn't recovered as fast as they would like. The only part that is back to "normal" is the french quarter.

Makes people hope though.

What is being said is not exactly true. Carnival is bring Triumph back to New Orleans approximately 4/2008. The port is fine and dandy. Actually new and very expensive for parking and such. My understanding is that the port has leved extremely high taxes on the cruise ships. I went on a 7day NCL out of New Orleans in Oct 2006 and the parking was 118.00
WE are just about rebuilt except for 9th ward

I JUST got off the phone with Carnival - since I just booked on the Fantasy in January I wanted to make sure. There will be no other carnival ships out of New Orleans this year OR next year according to the guy I talked to. If so...I would wait and book on the triumph.
