Carnival Conquest July 29, 2007 - 1st Time Cruiser

This will be my first cruise. It will be myself and my two daughters. I have a few questions. What do you do with your stuff when you do shore excursions in the water. Your card, your money, whatever?? We are doing a dolphin encounter and I just wondered where you leave your stuff!!! Also, I have 2 teenage daughters traveling with me. What are the best ways to keep in contact without cell phones?????? I know they will want to ditch me regularly and I'm worried about that!! Thanks for any help you can give!!!

You can carry on of those dry lockers... its a think you can wear around your neck with that stuff in it. Some places have lockers you can rent.

Cell phones are no use when your out to sea. Lots of people get those walkie talkie things to stay in touch.

Does Anyone have any other first time tips??? We are driving to Houston, spending the night and driving on to Galveston the morning of the cruise.

Hi, I'm sailling out the same date you are, July 29th, but on the Sensation out of Port Canaveral with my 14 year old son. It's our first cruise as well.

I recommend you read all the postings on this and the next page or two, and you will find tons of tips just by reading them.

Then, keep reading the new postings you haven't read yet every day, and you'll find many tips that will lead you to ask more of your own questions.

We did conquest last fall and had a great time. Before your cruise go online and purchase small waterproof holders that you wear around your neck. These will hold your sign/sail card,drivers license and some paper money.

Use 2way radios to keep in touch. You did not say how old your teenagers were but if they are between 13 and 16 they should love camp carnival.

My teenagers are 14 and 17!

The 14 year old will have a blast with camp groups for his/her age. Sometimes a 17 year old has problems,toold for camp to young for casino or bars. There will be a nightclub for the older teens.
