Particularly the Carnivival Terminal in Miami. Also, how many ships depart from there on Sundays? I imagine it could be quite crowded. I suppose earlier is preferable to later. Thanks in advance.
I try to get to the terminal about 11:00 - 11:30 AM. I'm going on the Valor on May 20th out of Miami and will try to arrive at the terminal by 11:00 AM. I figure by the time I drop my luggage off and park they will have started embarkation.
Two Carnival ships sail out of Miami on Sundays. The Valor and the Victory.

I try to get to the port to watch the ship arrive........ Then head back to the hotel, wake the wife and head to the port at 10:00 AM. Nice to be on early.. I figure I will have to sit around somewhere and wait, might as well be at the port!

We are with you Lou. We always get to the port between 10 and 10:30 am. I love waiting there and people watch...guessing who might be our tablemates. We have been the first ones on the ship twice...We got our full 8 days of the ship.

Thanks for the replies, I'm pretty much the same, The earlier we are on board, the better. Psycologicaly sp? , it's much easier to have an hour wait in a short line than a 1/2 hour wait in a long one.
Keep in mind that if you get there early, you'll probably want to hangout somewhere besides your cabin. Last time I cruised, I got there early and went straight to my cabin. They were still running around cleaning the cabins and I felt like I was in the way and shouldn't be there yet. I'll still embark early but I'll hang out on the Lido deck for a while before going to my cabin.

Yeah my first cruise I got there at like 3pm, a lil late this time we are leaving for Miami at 730 am so we should arrive there 11:30am give or take a few mins, but hey may as well get on board and check out some food, maybe a nice drink?
SO, you want to know what ships leave out of Miami on Sundfay....well, you asked.....Carnival Valor, Carnival Victory, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Jewel, Explorer of the Sea, and the BIG Freedom of the Seas. The Norwegian ships are the first two berths, Carnival owns the next two (I assume they own them sincve their name is on the terminal), and RCI has the last two. Freedom of the Seas is so big it can only fit in the last space.
We stayed at the lovely, NOT, Miami Airport Hilton overnight. The buses picked up and it took under an hour to get through the lineup and on the ship. Our cabin was ready (it was just after 1pm) and first thing I did was drop my bags and run to the balcony....literally.....First picture was from the balcony looking in....er, onboard at least...
In Miami I like to get there between 10 and 10:30. The Carnival busses start arriving from the airport around 11-11:30 then the lines get really long. Often the ship is boarding by the time we get through the line so not a lot of waiting. 30-45 minutes curb to ship.
It took us over an hour once when we waited for relatives who took the bus from the airport so we could all be in the same boarding photo. Still overall not bad.
I've always seen 3 ships loading in port on the days I left from Miami. Probably some variation based on what day you depart.
All in All I like embarkation in Tampa better, but it takes forever to get to open water
According to cruisecal.com, the Valor and Victory will be at the Carnival terminal on the day of your cruise.
Between 10:30 and 12 is a nice time to be at the port.

We just returned from the Glory. We arrived to the port at 10 AM, and on the ship by noon. The ship was a little late gfetting in port so we were delayed a little. The staff said boarding normally starts by 11:30 AM.
Upon return we were off the ship and at the car rental place by 8:15 AM...

I'm with Lauri on this one. Usually I do go to my cabin, smile at the cabin steward and tell him I am just going to drop my bag off and then it's off to the Lido deck for lunch and maybe an early cocktail. I'm usually on board by 1100 to 1200.
