laundry room need quarters? & drawers in cat 1A rooms?
1. do you need quarters for the laundry or do the machines take a swipe of your sail & sign card?
2. in the category 1A staterooms is there only a closet or are there also drawers for our clothes? We're not bringing anything that needs hanging but I'd rather have our shirts and shorts in drawers then have to bring along enough hangers.

All the laundry machines I have seen take quarters. I have never known of one that will take your S&S card.
I have never known anyone to complain about not having enough drawer space. We usually have enough that we are able to have a junk drawer too.

I haven't used the laundry. I usually have enough clean clothes to spare . The dresser area is the same size in all of the cabins so there is enough drawer space.

There have always been enough hangers for us. I sometimes layer hang my clothes, t-shirt under a button down shirt or blouse. You can ask for more from your cabin steward if necessary.

I always take extra wire hangers. There are never enough hangers for us. I also think the hangers they provide are awkward to use.

Libragirl, as the actress portraying Joan Crawford in MOMMY DEAREST said... "Wire hangers!! I don't want any wire hangers in my house!!"

The washing machine, I'm told, takes 8 quarters. Of course you can bring them along, or get them in the casino, or at the pursers desk. We too have found that Carnival cabins always have plenty of drawer, shelf, and hanger space, and enough hangers for our "stuff".
Have a great cruise,
Ken

I do laundry all the time when I go on a cruise, and the washer takes 8 quaters and the dryers does also. They also sell packets of detergent and softner in the machines.
I usually bring my own small bottle of detergent and softner. I found in Target a small little travel bottle of Tide Detergent which I am going to bring. I hoped this helped.

thanks everyone, I will bring some quarters to do the one load of laundry I expect to do to make very few shirts and shorts last for a 4-night cruise! I will also bring a cup or so of dry detergent and a softener sheet.

I have always been nervous about brining any sort of powder or liquid on a plane. Not that it will cause any real problem, but I am afraid that it could cause me or my bag to be singled out for some extra inspections that can take time.
Maybe I will stop at a walmart on the way after I land.

I was able to find tablets (detergent) last year. Sorry I do not remember the name of them, or the brand.

Hi Brian, I bring my own all of the time and we fly and nobody ever stopped me. Maybe I was just lucky.
