And new to cruising. I have a few questions that maybe some of you long time cruisers can answer. The first one is how much $$ does it cost to use your laptop in the internet cafe? Do they charge by the minute? Should I even bring it?
There are many folks here with a lot of experience ready to share.
I'm not one of them.
I brought my laptop but never used it.
I do remember that the cost to connect on board was pretty substantial.
There are cheap cafes in the ports, I hear.
Peace through superior firepower.
In my opinion, buying internet minutes is probably the most expensive service available on the ship (what other service charges you by the minute?). During our "Rome to Home" Cruise (Carnival Liberty, 16 days) I spent about $200 USD just updating my website (photos) and checking my email. I have to say, we did bring our laptop and it was so nice to be able to have WiFi available in our room. In retrospect, I guess it was worth it! I really enjoyed being about to send pics we took that day and send them to friends and family all across the US (while out at sea, whoa, cool).
