Default Past Guest Party

This will be our 3rd cruise - and the first one for 5 nights - the other 2 were 4 nights. Will there be a past guest party? If so how will we know about it and will we be invited? Is it a dress up thing - what do you do there?

It will take place--and an invitation will be left in your cabin. It's casual...often held immediately prior to dinner. Pretty much a repeat of Captain's Party.

You know we have never even been to the Captain's party - don't really know why though - is that where you get champagne & light refreshments? Is it champagne they serve at the other party also?

Yep, they serve champagne, as well as other drinks like wine, rum punch, screwdrivers and other mixed drinks. You can even get coke if you hurry! Little snacks and such are the norm as well. Usually have the band playing, and then the captain or some other officer tells you all about the line, and the new ships coming etc. It's fun to attend, and gets the evening off to a fast start. 8)
See you aboard,

Ken

Most people don't know this but if you go to the bar you can basically order any drink that you want for free!

In all my cruises, I have never done the past guest party. I have to remember to go and get there early and order free drinks from the bar.

You dont even have to get up from your chair... just ask the waitor/waitress and they'll bring you your drink of choice!!!

I thought the past guest party was formal NOT casual....that is why we have never gone......I would like it if we could go casual.

If I remember correctly, the ones we have been to are on formal nights.

The past guest party on the Victory was the night before the next formal night. They called it "smart casual" dress--something you'd wear to a nice but not a fancy restaurant.

I took advantage of the food and drink. I downed three blue margaritas pretty quick. The captain, the cruise director, all of the important staff are there to greet you and they mingle amongst everyone too. They did a draw for a bottle of champagne and the person who had the most number of cruises for that voyage would be mentioned.

I am looking forward to cruising the Eastern Caribbean and to see who the cruise director/staff are on the Triumph. I found the CD/staff on Victory to be awesome, especially the newest member (Ian)--very good looking and personable.

The Past Guest Party on the Conquest was an afternoon about 3:00 on one of the sea days. An invitation and past guest pins were left on our beds the night before.

hi
it was NOT on formal night-and run just like captains reception-snacks and pre made drinks brought around--dress is like any dinner in dining room-though a few were more dressed for Lido deck buffet (and looked out of place).

The last one I went to was on a different night from formal night because I wore a suit to it instead of my tux.

Default past guest party

The past guest party is the same as the welcome aboard part, except not as dressy. Day one board the ship.
Day two at sea, formal night, welcome aboard party,
Day three Key west, past guest party.
Day four Nassau.
Day five at sea.
Day six, port disembark.
Hope this is what you needed to know.
Have a great time.

Lou, you haven't attended any? You're missing out my friend . Make it a point to do both next time. Great music, waitstaff at your pleasure... good times.

the past guest party is usually restricted to one lounge area, the captains party is sometimes spread over a few different lounges since more people attend the captains party. We enjoy both.

If you are traveling on Carnival's Celebration the Captains Party is on the day you get to Key West. Formal night is the 1st day at sea. Both will be in the Astoria Lounge ( where all the shows are ). 5 pm.

I will start attending the parties. I might just have to book more cruises to make up for the ones I missed!
