Default Liberty 6 day cruise, april/may 2008--why so inexpensive

We just booked a 6 day cruise aboard Carnival Liberty for may 4th, 2008. for the price of $456.83 per person which includes all taxes and fees for a 1c interior guaranty cat. Can anyone tell me why its so inexpensive? By comparison some of the 5 day cruises on the fantasy class ships are pricier... and the peak hurricane season sept 2008 aboard Liberty costs more. I feel like i'm overlooking something and am considering canceling because its way too cheap.

I think the bargain price is due to the fact that May is not a school vacation season.

The lowest prices are - early May, mid September, and early December. Look at how much the price jumps over the Christmas-New Years holidays !

We booked the same cruise (March 9th). This is March break for us here in Ontario. I was astounded that a balcony guarantee was only $699 pp. Last March break the same cabin on the Miracle was $899. True it was one day longer, but still.

I asked myself the same question about why it was so inexpensive for this time of year and couldn't figure it out. Even if you look at the first two weeks of December it's still in the same sort of price bracket.

But the real kicker is that as I said this is our March break. Surely Carnival knows this!? Well not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, we snapped up two balcony gtys for us and for our friends. Leaving the kids at home this time but had to go that week because hubby is a teacher.
