Default Marriage Certificate

I have cruised twice before and I know that both times I carried certified birth certificates and a certified copy of my marriage license. I am not sure if they ever asked to see the marriage license or not...anyway I'm trying to get all of my stuff together for this cruise and I can't even find my book from my wedding that I had all of the marriage stuff in. Has anyone on here ever had them ask to see the marriage license? I guess they could look at my children's birth certificates and see that both of us are their parents...

I have never heard of anyone asking, unless everything they carried had a different name on it. As long as you have a passport or Birth certificate, and a picture ID, you should be okay.

Thanks - I have my birth certificate - it has my maiden name (of course) and my driver's license has my married name. I guess everyone's is that way though. We don't have passports.

I took my marriage certificate with me when I had birth cert. No one ever asked for it. Now I have a passport with my married name on it. I am not expecting to bring any thing else this time.

If you recently got married and doing the cruise as a honeymoon you should take your MC otherwise no need. My daughter booked a cruise for a honeymoon and booked it under her name at the time and then after getting married her name changed. The key was to not change the drivers lic until after the cruise.............
I suggested she keep her last name but that didn't fly!

i personally think its easier for everyone traveling including children to have passports. The law is changing soon that you will need them anyways, so just do it now and it makes things much easier.
