We are four 55+ adults (in decent shape considering our age, but not quite ready to zip line) who are looking for Costa rica excursions going outside Port Limon. Has anyone taken any or Carnival's excurions, and what would be your recommendations?
We just returned from a cruise where we visited Costa Rica. We took an excursion. I think it was called Adventure Canels, Rainforest and Banana Plantation. It was nice. They take you on a boat that holds around 20 people through the rainforest where we saw monkeys, lizards, different types of birds and even a couple of Crocodiles. After you go on a bus and ride through miles and miles (banana overkill) of banana trees. Then we went to a small outside factory and saw how the bananas get washed and packaged. Oh yeh, half way through we stopped and they had place set up for us with live music and fresh fruit and sodas. I think it was worth it.
We were there a couple of months ago and did the boat, bus and train tour. We really enjoyed that. May be something you would want to check out. We got back to the ship in time to get a bite of lunch and go shop around for a while. You get to see some of the countryside without it being
so long as to tire you out.
