The CDC has always given Carnival ships very high marks. There was one ship that failed and believe me, heads rolled.
As far as the BBB is concerned, when they list Carnival, they are clumping all of their cruiselines together. Whatever number of complaints that have been filed has passed the point that BBB allows. I think it is like 550 or so.
A lot of complaints until you consider how many people are on any CCL ship each year. Hundreds of thousands. Most of the complaints deal with the customer service on land and not the ship. Also, many people believe that they should be compensated a free cruise for every little thing that goes wrong. That is not possible. Hence, you have unhappy people. Most of the BBB complaints have been addressed but just not at the speed that is acceptable to BBB.

Thanks for that info. I know that with 6 cruises with Carnival, our experiences have been splendid. The fact that unexpected snags occur on the high seas is somewhat normal, (it seems to me). Missed ports due to weather are done for passenger safety. I certainly don't expect overdue compensation when little things happen. Again thanks for the info about "lumping" all the cruiselines on Carnival. We're going again and can't wait.
