We all now have our passports. I have filled out my online boarding pass and printed out my Fun Pass.
I picture walking up to a table at the pier and handing someone that printed Fun Pass. They will look me up in the computer, check my passports, swipe my credit card, have me sign something, and send me down the plank to a picture person.
We have tried to give them our Fun Pass the last 2 CC and no one wanted it, stating the info was in the computer. All they wanted to see was our passports. Have a great time!

I just came of the western carribean cruise with the Carnival Liberty and also had the fun pass printed out, it was a waste of time as it does nothing for you. They will give you a plastic card with your name, table # and that you will need this everytiime you purchase, when you get on and off the boat.
On the Carnival Web site they recommend that you fill out your boarding information. This is basically you passport number, emergency contact, and post cruise information. When you are done they tell you to print out a "Fun Pass" that has your name and confirmation number.
Isn't the Fun Pass supposed to expidite your check in at the dock? Being new to cruising I don't know but that's what I thought. If it doesn't do anything what's the purpose of filling it out and printing it?

filling out the fun pass does expedite check in as you don't have to fill on the forms at the port; generally they don't need to see it at check in as it is in the computer system; that being said, I still print my paperwork and take it in case the computers are not working properly or whatever, at least I would have evidence of having completing the information.

I always print my fun pass and they never ask for it.

They don't need to see it. You already put your info in their system when you filled it out online. If you didn't do it you would be standing there waiting while they entered it into the system.
I was given the impression that there would be two lines. One for funpass travelers, and on for non. I thought I would be "breezing" on through like some VIP. Nope We all crammed through the same line, even though there was a point in the line that said funpass to the left, all others to the right.

Oh well. It still beats being at work!

I think most people fill it out now. You are right though the line is the same either way.
I think the line would be much slower if people didn't complete the fun pass before arriving to the port. The lines would move slower as they would be required to obtain the information at the port instead.

You are right on that one, how many times I've been behind someone who brings the line to a screeching halt. Sorry, I belong on the Cruise Gripes section with that one!
