Default Please Support Our Troops!!!!

I know this blog is to talk about Cruising. I just would like everyone that reads this to stop for a minute and pray for all of the troops that are serving anywhere in the world. It’s because of them we are able to go on all the cruises and still be safe and have fun!! May God bless them all and bring them all home safely to their families!! I know that this might not seem to be the place to bring this up and it might not be politically correct, but I feel it is right. I don’t want everyone talk about the war or politics, just support the troops that’s all!!

Monty ;

As a Viet Nam Vet (Air Force) I think of our troops every day. I don't know anyone personally that is currently serving, but our thoughts are with all them daily.
Be proud and support your son.

Monty:

I too am a Vietnam Vet, and I work at MacDill A.F.B. with a lot of our troops. Needless to say, they are in my prayers each and every day. You won't find a finer bunch of men and women anywhere in the world than our great people in the military.

My thoughts are with our troops every day. I am a grandmother of 4 boys all too young right now for the military but I always think someones grandsons and sons are taking good care of us all everyday. I shouln't say just sons and grandsons also grand daughters and daughters too. My cousin has a daughter in the Navy right now. I get very angry when I hear the politicians arguing that we should not be giving the monies needed to support our troops in Iraq now. Well we have our people there.... SUPPORT THEM ALWAYS! no matter where they are they are all looking after us all. I pray they come home all safe and sound.......

My son ships out next Wednesday for Qatar (USAF) Military Police. There are two groups going who just completed desert training in Nevada and are on the way back tonight to get read to go. Both groups were to go to Qatar, but the other group that my son is not in just got their order changed to Bagdad prison. Both groups got their orders moved up by one week! My son is still going to Qatar, but his orders have a receiver secondary order attached to it for Bagdad prison. I thank everyone for keeping all of the Troops in their prays. I am ex-Army 7 years and my father was in for 26 years. So I know how bad the Viet Nam Vet was treated. I hated it back then and I do not want that to ever happen to any of the Troops again.

Three cheers for the sailors and soldiers. They are still our babies.

If I see any one of our uniformed gems on my cruise, "next round is on me!!!"

Always support them!!!!

Not a day goes by that we don't thank them. We have 3 sons proudly serving in the USMC. We support them, their friends and everyone who serves. We both work at the Veteran's Medical in Long Beach taking care of veterans young and old. My DH has been here 32 years and I have 14 years. I personally work in the Rehab Nursing Home and if you really want to make a veteran's day, just go to your local VA Medical Center, visit the patients and say thanks. Even better...volunteer for a few hours each day/week transporting patients around the hospital. We have 95 years olds pushing 50 year olds to their appointments. Thank them all for your freedom!

I am the proud mother of a Navy veteran and daughter of an Army WW2 soldier. I pray daily for our troops and families and I'm thankful to all who have, and are, serving. It's not about who's right and who's wrong in this war, it's ALL about our troops and the courageous way our men and women serve. God Bless you all and may you return home safely.

They are now going to the prison in Bagdad. They do not know if they go with other group next Wednesday or when. He arrives home to Offutt at midnight and that is when he is going to break the news to his wife. He did not want to tell over the phone so I am glade she is never on this site! Luanne as you know the Military can change your whole life in a second. Thanks to everyone that has responded to this thread and thanks for supporting all of the troops!!

Monty, I can only imagine all that is going through your mind right now. Your son is leaving, allowing me to sit here in my comfort. The sacrifice that he, and the other soldiers, make can never be repaid. I pray for our service men and women and say thanks. It seems so small in comparison to what they are doing. Please give your son an extra hug from this mom.

I will Thank You very much! Everyone keeps telling me he will be OK! I know that that this war is nothing like the other wars, but service personnel are still getting killed and are in arms way everyday! So yes I can’t stop thinking about it and thoughts are running fast through my mind and it hard not to think about it! Luanne knows better then I do! I just hope her husband is still back in the States!!!

Monty, I know your pain, fear and feelings of immense pride. My son did his tour in Afghanistan. Those phone calls in the middle of the night had me up in a panic...then I tried to stay upbeat when I could hear the homesickness in his voice. I cried the rest of the night and begged God to take care of my boy. Because that man is my little boy! So yes, I gladly support our troops!

Monty,

Yes, he is back home with me! No, he won't be going back. After he got back, he had to work in New Orleans after Katrina. When that was done, his time in the National Guard was up. I encouraged him not to reup. I told him I didn't think I would survive another tour.

I pray that your boy comes home soon....safe and sound!

Oh, and just so you know, when any troops return home to Louisiana, they get police escorts and flag waving people lining the route. The party is the icing on the cake.

I am glade he is home safe! Please let him know that even if people do not agree with the War or the Politics. They support all the Troops and Thank them for what they have done and for what they have gave up! I would like to think all of the family members, because it’s not only the troops that have to deal with it. There family have their own pain and heart acts to deal with just worrying about them.

Our town has large National Guard Headquarters and we have several Units stationed here. Every one of the Units has been deployed several times! Our town does not do what you town does, but they always have going away ceremony for them when they leave and a party when they come back! We have had some not make it back and every one supports the families. The Guard here in our town has always been a close group. That’s where I started in the Military.

Thanks to all of you that are so thoughtful about our troops. I am a retired army pilot and now train future pilots and agree with a previous poster that we can not find a finer group of men and women to serve our country. A salute to them and their families!

Monty..........
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your son, and his wife. My 18 year old (born on 9/11) is serving in the Army and is due to ship out this summer. I can still vividly remember rocking him to sleep. I know how you are feeling, but remain positive and supportive for my son. He is proud to be serving our Country, so I will pray for him and all of the soldiers safe return and stand proud of the fine man he has become. He promised a cruise for me and him when he returns and I told him I intend to hold him to it!!!
