what would it be?
If I could change only ONE thing about my cruising experience, I would make the pools have fresh water in them! YAY!
I hate swimming in salt water ...at least in a pool. YUCK!

I can't really think of anything I would change since I have had the time of my life on each and every one except one......... The one time I cruised without my wife. I took our son and a bunch of boys on a cruise on spring break there senior year. If I had to do it again I would have taken the wife also but she said it was a boys only cruise. She did a girls only cruise when our daughter was a senior 4 years earlier.
I love cruising!
Good thread by the way..........

The only thing I would change is the itinerary. We would do a Eastern Caribbean instead of the Mexican Riviera.
The reason we arent is my DH and I planned this cruise as a gift for my parents anniversary. The one catch is my Dad doesnt fly at all. He is deathly afraid of it. He went to Alaska with my Mom about 15yrs ago and she hasnt been able to get him on a plane since. Can you imagine every other years vacations being limited to a car ride! Yikes. She is a better woman than I, lol. She wants to go to Italy so badly but unless he was drugged, it isnt happening! So when I planned this I totally had that in the forefront of my mind.
I would love to change the times the pools and hot tubs open in the morning, my husband and I are such morning people, and we usually have to go and watch them clean the windows in the hot tub, from 6-8 a.m., that would be such a nice time to go and sit in them, while the rest of the quest are asleep. At least open one for the early birds

it's 18 at most of the ports?
Shhhhh I won't be filling in my son on that one.
Yes... The 1st port was Grand Cayman and the boys went straight to 7 mile beach, went to a bar on the beach and asked for the strongest drink they had. The rest is history! Well it might be best that my DW was not along...

Actually I think I would have not used one of the patches for sea sickness. All it did was make me sleepy and I missed the grand midnight buffet! Carla

Raina: You need to cruise aboard Princess. All the pools on their ships are fresh water I believe.
I haven't cruised yset, first one is in July, but I have already changed one thing - upgrade from 1A to 6B stateroom. Now, the only thing I would change is how slowly time is passing as I can't wait for my cruise!!! If I had more money I'd change the length and make it an 8-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise. Bu that will have to wait till our 2nd cruise, in 4 years.

I usually miss the midnight buffet but I don't have the patch to use as an excuse. The sandman gets in my eyes.

Huh!?!? Salt water in the pool?? I know I'm a first time cruiser and all, but is this standard???
Hi Greg... Yes its standard. This is a cost saving for the ship. So when you go down the slide.. kept your mouth and eyes shut...

Yep, it's sea water, but they do purify it, and add clorine as well. It's still got plenty of salt in it though! As I stated in an earlier post, Princess is the only main line that has fresh water pools that I'm aware of. Many people like the salt water pools, but I think it's kind of gross. UGH It's usually plenty cold too, as they change it quite often.
I would like to see the disembarktion easier.
Especially in Miami It is a mad house.
No way will I cruise out of Miami again. The rush to get off the ship, then the pushing and shoving to get your luggage. They need a better system.
I want more cruise ships to go out of our beautiful new terminal in Norfolk, VA. The itineraries they are offering right now are very few. Maybe in a few years we can start cruising by just paying for a short taxi ride to the port. Then maybe we could get in on those "last-minute" deals!!!
