H&M is a clothing store, started in Sweden and expanded all over Europe before coming to the U.S. They have great stuff and very good prices. We have 4 of them here in the the Los Angeles area. Madonna actually recently did a line for them. All high fashion stuff for cheap.
Here is a link. http://www.hm.com/us/#kylie2007startpage They don't show a lot on the webpage, but if you have one near you, worth making the trip. Each time they opened stores here in L.A., they had lines around the block waiting to get in.
I didn't go to the formal nights - not that kinda girl - BUT if you really want the dress, look for it on EBAY. You'd be surprised how many things you can get even when you want something very specific! Check it out! I just went on and searched "scala gown." There are more than 50, and the most expensive one was 129.00! You have plenty of time, so you can always return it if it's not just right! Good Luck!
One of the replies mentioned about getting a dress at the Thrift Store. That is normally where I buy them. I "DO NOT" take them to the cleaners, as it would cost more than I paid for the dress. I wash them by hand, either hand them to dry, or put them in a bag in my dryer for a few minutes, and I have a NEW dress.

How often do you re-wear the dinner clothes on non-formal night? I am trying to decide just how many new clothes I will need to buy.
I am a first time cruiser and talked to a friend who goes a lot and she said she takes the same formal dresses for all her cruises as she says there are different peeps on each one and her friends don;t mind seeing the same ones at all
I just brought a long formal in the sales!! $60 and the rest will be cocktail dresses.
Hi, my name is Linda and I'm a QVC aholic....
I need two formal night outfits so I bought a Bob Mackie (Cher's designer) jacket, black, with embroidered and sparkle embellishments, with 3 big white, pearl buttons down each sleeve and in front. I'm wearing black palazzo pants with a white, laced blouse and black satin pumps. The second outfit is a Susan Graver, lace, below the calf, chocolate brown skirt, with a brown and gold glitter jacket and matching shell, open-toed gold/bronze/brown heels.
Total (not including S&H): around $250, plus these outfits I can wear after the cruise.
Dang it....just spent another $21 on a beaded evening bag....I think I'll take up reading for awhile.....

Isis46, I seen where you just bought a "beaded" evening bag for $21.00.
I just want to tell you that on some of the cruise lines, they have beautiful beaded bags for $10. In fact, this last cruise I wore a beautiful long red dress, and had a plain bag to match. When I got on the ship, I found a bag "exactly" the same color of the dress and original bag I had. I bought it, and got rid of the other bag. It had sequens and beads all over it.
I just bought an awesome black strapless dress and shoes to go with it for $30 total at Ross!
Yay. I love getting good deals. And I love having an excuse to shop! I'm not crusing until Halloween, so I have lots of time!!! I could get myself in trouble!
I haven't made it to Ross yet, but I did find a really good website with TONS of dresses. It's therosedress.com. They have some long formals that are very simple and at very nice prices.
I hadn't been in The Dress Barn in forever, but I went in on a whim, and they have a lot of cocktail dresses!!!

I know, my "problemo" is, I watch those shop at home channels WAY too much.....just got my credit card bill which proved it . When I step on that ship, the last thing I want to worry about is trying to find something I need for formal nights. But that's just me, I guess. Thanks anyway for the advice.
