Default Best Balcony cabin for 3 people on Glory?

This question is for someone who has more experience than us newbies and has stayed in a balcony cabin on the Glory. We are saving to put a deposit down on a cruise in 2008 and would like enough room for 3 family members to stay in a large balcony room. Can someone tell us which is the largest and best balcony room to book and what deck also? Thanks

All the balcony cabins are basicly the same size wall to wall. The difference is how the beds are set up in the cabin ie 1 king or two twin beds etc.

The couch would sleep the third person. It might be a little cramped, but doable.

Do you think a suite would sleep 3 better or is that two twins and a couch also? Thanks for answering me Luanne I really appreciate it.

It a suite you would have the same situation, unless you asked for a rollaway bed, and then you would have to deal with the same problem. I think you will be okay with a balcony. Just don't try to dress at the same time.

The balcony cabins aft on the corners of the ship are larger with bigger balconies, but are pricey. You'll have to book early to get one of these, but the bedding situation will still be the same. I'd suggest booking "CAT 8 GUARANTEE". This will get you a balcony cabin at less than a CAT 8A and you'll most likely be upgraded to a higher deck. We've sailed Glory twice and there ain't a bad seat in the house!!! Save your money for KEWL excursions.

My wife and I were in an aft corner balcony on the Glory and our cabin only had room for our 1 king bed. There was no sofa in the cabin, just the bed, and a small desk.

I think a regular balcony would be your best bet with ethier a drop down bunk from the wall with 2 twin beds, or the 2 twin beds with a sofa bed set up would be best for your party.

Happy Sailing and the Glory was a wonderful ship for my wife and I's first cruise!

How much more is a balcony than an ocean view? Is it worth the extra? Does an ocean view sleep 3 people? Husband and wife with a 18 year old?

The price difference with with Oceanview and the balcony can be very small to a few hundred dollars depending on how cabins are booking at the time. When I booked my first cruise, it was cheaper to book a garentee balcony then a garentee oceanview because lots of people were booking oceanviews at the time and not many balconys were being sold, so they basiclly went on sale. So you would need to contact a PVP or travel agent to find out the current price difference between the two types of rooms.

Oceanview room's can sleep up to 4 people. To fit your family: you, your husband and teenager, I assume you would want a king with a sofa bed. Another type would be a king and a bunk (which hangs off the wall above the ground). If you look at a cabin map, you can see the different room set ups on each floor of the ship. If you have already booked your reservation with carnival, they will make sure your cabin will sleep the number in your party when they assign you to a cabin unless you pick a specific cabin out at the time of your reservation.

Thanks Alaskan for your advice. We booked yesterday a suite on the Empress deck and the rep at Carnival said the same thing you did! Thanks!

I would say the standard balcony is too small for 3. I see you booked something, hope this gives you a better idea of what the balcony room looks like.

I sure hope this cabin is big enough for 3 we booked yesterday. Its the Cat 11 suite balcony. Carnival said it was not a standard.

We were in cabin 1065 Panorama deck. This cabin can sleep 4. There is a sofa that will handle an adult, also there is a bed the comes down from the ceiling.

If you go to this addy, you will see some pics from the cabin.

its one of the panoramic pictures with my g/f standing by the tv.
