Default New Year's Eve

We have just booked our first New Year's Eve cruise after hearing about what great celebrations they are aboard the ships. For those that have taken these cruises, could anyone eleborate about the festivities on the Carnival Liberty.

Looking forward to a great New Year's Eve experience.

Manuel

Great question! We have booked a New Year's Eve cruise on the Holiday and would be interested in any info anyone would have on the celebrations that go on!

It is soooo much fun!!!!

We are also booked on New Years Eve cruise, Carnival Valor. We will be 32 of us and my DH cousins will be getting married at St Thomas. This will be an extra special cruise for me. My first weddign cruise and new years cruise yippeee. Can not wait to set sail especially since everyone back home will be FREEZING. I have herd that they have a big bash on deck and that there is free cham. I am not sure about anything else. But it does happen to fall on captains night which is nice.
Anyone else sailing with me on the Valor?

There are a lot more people going on new years eve cruises on here than I thought We should all write down what happens on our boats and post them on a thread when we get back. That way the next new years first timer will have a really good idea of whats coming Carla

Hey Carla, great idea about writing down what happens on our boats for the new years eve bash! IF I can shut up long enough to type when I get back, I will do that! No one on here will believe this, and I am a little embarrased to admit it, but neither the DW or I have EVER EVER EVER been to a real new years eve bash Hey, cut us some slack, we're from Kentucky!

I don't know about the Liberty but I can tell you about the Carnival Conquest.

We cruised last year over New Years and it was the best cruise we have ever had. There was PLENTY of free champagne flowing, party favors were handed out at dinner, and a huge party in the main atrium counting down to Midnight. There was a large net above the atrium that held the balloons that would drop at midnight. You could add to the balloons by inflating a new balloon and place a raffle ticket inside, tie it off, and add it to the large amount of balloons. At Midnight after they dropped the cruise director grabbed one and popped it to award the prize.

I'm attaching a link to the review I had on the Conquest that explains it with a bit more detail.

Enjoy your cruise!

Suebecdan,

We will be on the Valor with you. We are a party of 7 with a wedding in St Thomas at the Emerald Beach Resort. We're taking a private island tour following the wedding.

See you on board!

My husband and I will be on the Valor NYE to celebrate 27 anniversary. Is it true that my husband needs a tux that night? He has worn nice suits on our last cruises. We have never been on a holiday cruise before.

We are also cruising on the Carnival Valor on New Years. Now that we are sure we will be cruising more often, my husband bought a used tux from http://www.formalweardirect.com/. The entire tux (jacket, pants, shirt, vest, tie & shoes) plus 2-day UPS shipping was only $125.

We are looking for another 1 or 2 couples interested in sharing a sailing charter in St Thomas for a day snorkeling trip to St Johns. Price is only $125 ($115 cash) per person for the day and includes gear, instruction, food & open bar. Taxi is extra but will pick up and deliver back to Carnival pier. The Captain will schedule around the Valor's itinerary, so the sailing will last from 10:30 - 4:30.

Counting the days!

Just a few days away for our New Years sailing. A tuxedo is not a requirment for formal night. A lot of people do wear them but you also have a lot of men in formal suits so do not worry. Valor here we come...

sounds like we have several couples from our Cruisemates family sailing on the Valor New Year's Eve!! The sailing tour sounds good, but we will be busy with the wedding and private island tour. got a great deal $20 pp fro 2 1/2 hrs. If you see a group of 7 in wedding attire in a open air bus it'll be us!!

A tux is not a necessity. A nice suit will do just fine! You'll most certainly see some people who are not formally dressed at all. Enjoy New Year's onboard. One of the very best nights to be at sea IMHO.

Hey uoduck1978. We snorkeled at St. John and it is wonderful. You'll have a great time. This time my husband and I plan to explore St. Thomas on our own. We didn't get to see much of it the last time we cruised there. So excited about this cruise. We normally cruise with family but this time we get to just be a couple.

Popeye, we are flying 2 days before our cruise to give us a little cushion. Last year we spent new years in San Antonio, and the flights from Hartford Ct to and from San Antonio were not bad at all.

Happy holidays to everyone.
