Default Speaking of room locations....

I've read several posts that indicate rooms that are situated with rooms above and rooms below, tend to have less noise.

What about rooms on the lowest floor. The Riviera deck on the Inspiration for instance. What's below this deck? The ship layouts on the Carnival site don't say... Hmmm, a mystery lurks below I guess.

We're near the back of the ship on the Riviera Deck. Does anybody know what lies beneath? The engine room or other ship facilities I imagine. I hope we're not going to have the main engine pounding away underneath us all night...

The crew and staff quarters will be on the decks directly below. If you above one of their public areas, you may get noise from that.

Normally any room is fine but just below the casino or lido deck might be a little noiser.. I have had bost but neither was real bothersome.

Hi Luanne,

We're in R202, 204, and 206. Port side, aft, right next to the elevator bank back there.

Do you have super secret schematic diagrams of the ship? lol.

Thanks, I'm curious to know what might be below us.

Andy

Hi Andy,

I checked on your rooms, and this is what I found out. Above you are other state rooms, so the noise should be okay.

Below you will be crew areas. This is not usually a problem, so no worries.

You do have a laundry room on your floor, for any of those in your party who needs to wash or iron clothes during your cruise.

Hope that helps,

Luanne

Thanks Luanne.

Looks like we're leaving out of Tampa a day before you. The Conquest is out of Galveston, right?

We'll wave to your ship if we pass by in the Gulf of Mexico. lol

Andy,

What day will you be in Grand Cayman and Cozumel?

What excursions do you have planned?

Luanne,

We'll be in Grand Cayman on Monday, the 11th. My wife and I were wanting to do the beginner scuba, but she doesn't like water temps cooler than 90 degrees... (she's been on me to get a heater for the pool at home!). So... I'll most likely take the kids (16 yrs and 8 yrs) to sting ray city while she does the land lubber thing on shore. I suggested she and her friend go to Hell when we hit Cayman and she gave me a dirty look...

We hit Calica on Tuesday, the 12th. There, we're going to Xcaret so the kids and I can swim with Flipper.

Ours is a 5 day cruise out of Tampa, so the 10th and 13th are fun days at sea.

we had an aft room on the riveria deck on the inspiration, no real noise , except when you dock. the props make the whole room vibrate. this was how we knew it was time to get up in the morning with an inside room, no windows you can't tell day time from night time, but when you dock it was like an alarm clock. as i remember the crew quaters are below you. one thing if you leave from your room for shore excursions its just one floor down.

Andy,

I thought maybe we would be there at the same time, and could meet, but you will be there before me.

Thanks Hawkeye, that's good to know.

Note to self: No need to arrange wake up calls on days we hit ports... lol

That's too bad. Well, if I see another Carnival ship out in the middle of the gulf, I'll wave as we steam by.

Tell you what, I'll tape a note saying "Hi Luanne! Andy was here!" on the roof of the tender in Grand Cayman when we go to shore. When you go ashore there, look up at the ceiling, who knows... maybe you'll get the same tender and then we'll be well met!

Luanne if you see your name on the tender take a picture and post it

Andy, remember Luanne teaches very young kids so write her name in big block letters so she will recognize it (VBG)

I will take a picture of me on the tender, correcting Andy's message.

Be sure to bring your smiley or star stamp if you're going to grade this project. lol

For people that have been to Grand Cayman, just how many tenders might be used? I may have to place the note in a place that increases the odds of Luanne finding it. Like where the tenders dock for instance.

Maybe I can get one of the vendors on the pier to agree to hold up a sign greeting Luanne to the island when the Conquest arrives a few days after me.

Hmmm, I'll work something out. Luanne, keep your eyes open when you hit Cayman. There'll be a message somewhere saying hello from Andy, Kim, Aleshia, and Sarah Griffith!

And yes, it is actually Andy Griffith. Not "thee" Andy Griffith, but Andy Griffith none the less... Being born in 65', I think my mom had the hots for sheriff taylor.

Hi KK41,

Your room is a very good location. You are going to be soooo close to everything. Should be quiet, except during the day, when there is so much activity around the pool.

The following is a list of the laundry rooms on the Conquest

Conquest Laundry rooms are opposite:
1359
2367
6387
7339
8351
9270
