Default Sneaking bottled drinks in the luggage

It’s my first cruise & I have read that some people sneak in soda cans, bottled water & even alcohol in the luggage. Have you done it? Has any one had they’re drinks confiscated? Come on, give it up!!!!

On all but our last cruise, we took a couple of six packs of cola for my wife - didn't smuggle it either. We had it in our carryon luggage, which was x-rayed at the port.

As near as I can remember, the only thing that Carnival bans you from carrying on is the alcohol.

In April on our last cruise we brought 2 12 packs of pop, wrapped it in see through wrap, placed a luggage tag with it and left it with our luggage. It was delivered right to our room.
No problems!

This is a popular topic. Keep reading through the threads and you'll see quite a few regarding 'sneaking' drinks on board.

There appears to be an overwhelming consensus that you'll have no problem stashing bottles of soda, wine, liquor in your checked baggage. Some people have even gotten several cases of beer on board from what I've read.

Quite a few have brought stuff on board with their carry on bags, but most use their checked luggage to get it on board.

Have fun!

Just remember that anything in your luggage that you will take on a plane will be subjected to the full changes in air pressure.

Look at this one. It covers some of the things you are asking about.

The pressure in the cargo hold is the same as in the cabin. The plane is a pressurized tube -- there is not a seal between the cabin floor and the cargo area beneath.

We have taken water and tea in our luggage before.

Last year on our cruise I carried a 12 pack of Diet Pepsi (my beverage of choice) and a 12 pack of bottled water on the ship with us when we boarded. No one said anything to our family of 4.

If you check the Carnival site you will find that you can bring a reasonable amount of beverage on board.

Have never done the alcohol thing as we are not big drinkers and find the adult beverages to be fairly priced.

Either way, enjoy and have save travels.

As posted before, concealing alcoholic beverages can be cause for forced disembarkation. This is policy at Carnival and RCI and is in writing. Whether they strictly enforce inspections is another question. I don't think I would gamble with my cruise.

We just returned from a cruise on the Glory. We did not take any soda or water onboard, took up too much room in our luggage, but I did see others with soda and water and it was fine. As for taking alcohol onboard, we wanted a bottle of liquor in our room and called the Carnival Bon Voyage department, had a l-liter bottle of Wild Turkey delivered for $38. I feel this is a lot easier than taking a chance smuggling liquor onboard!!!!

Just back from the Conquest! I put luggage tags on two cases of water and 2 twelve packs of Diet Dr. Pepper. (We had a big group). I also got some sports bottles with tight snapping tops and put a fifth of vodka, tequila, brandy and cointreau in them. Wrapped them individually in plastic grocery bags along with 3 bottles of sweet and sour and 1 bottle of cranberry juice. Secured all of this in several garbage bags. Put a pillow in the bottom of the suitcase, then the drink stuff and a pillow on top. All of it arrived intact, except that a couple of bottles of water had fallen out. Plus, I had MY pillows to sleep with!

There are 3 of us going on our cruise so do you think it would be OK if each of us brought on 2 12 pks of soda? And yea I planned on doing that with the vodka for sure, lol.. Question about the soda and if you sneak on beer: Do you walk around with it in the can or do you put it in a cup so no one sees it? Your room stewarest wont tell on you when she sees it?

I just got back from the Valor and I brought 12 bottles of wine on board. They did not check my bag and didnt ask any questions so I think it would be no problem getting a bottle of something on the ship!

Did you wrap the water in plastic wrap?

A few years ago we went on RCCL. We put soda and water and vodka in a soft sided rolling cooler with a luggage tag(they kind of look like a piece of luggage). They were delivered to our cabin with the rest of our bags. I learned that trick on the message boards.

And they didn't question it?

Pack it,what sthe worst they would say..you brought on too much water or cokes. As far as liquor, open up some water bottles pour them out and refill with the clear stuff...Vodka,gin,white rum you get the pic as far as your dark drinks..use a listerine bottle whiskey you get the pic. Now if you drink all that up,buy big 32oz water bottle at a port stop and reapeat the above, carry the bottle back on to the boat when its time to reboard and just carry it we walked right back on the boat and headed to the fruit juice machines and BAM there you have it or use the cokes you brought on board for your set ups.
