Default PVP or TA?

I went to see a TA for price and she gave it to me and the deposit is $25 pp then I called a PVP to see if there was a price differance and she asked me if I were working with a TA and I told her no that I just got a price from one. She gave me a price which was the same but the deposit is $200 pp which is a huge differance. She also went way above and beyond what the TA did by sending me info via email, mail and phone she was really on top of things. Well I just confirmed with her the deposit and since it is so much higher than the TA I am going to have to go with the TA since I am booking a group and they wont want to pay $200 pp that is almost half the amount of the whole cruise!! My question is since she asked me if I were working with a TA and offically I wasnt I was just priceing and the same with her, do I HAVE to book with the PVP or can I go where I choose? I dont want them to think the TA cut there throughts and stole her commission or anything. In fact the TA doesnt even have my # so she has only spoken to me that one time for the quote so it isnt her fault. And I did send the PVP an email telling her about the deposit differances. I just want to make sure I wont be breaking any sort of rules here. Can I go where I want?

I had also talked with a PVP and a TA, and ended up booking with the TA because she let us pay half our deposit and then the remainder of the deposit two weeks later. The deposit was the same amount at both places, but the TA let us break it up which made it easier for us to do.
Hope this helps.

I have used both. I compare and then buy.

Bobby G;
A PVP is a Personal Vacation Planner. They are the reps you deal with at Carnival. It really wasn't a trick. I had to ask at one time too.

My DD has been making all of the arrangements for our family cruise thru a PVP. "Bill" has been wonderful thru it all, has recently even changed our dining times per our request, which I wasn't sure could be done at this late date. He's been so helpful and even sent her his personal pics of the food at the Supper Club for them to check out. They will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary during our cruise and will be eating there one night with her brother and SIL, who will be celebrating their Anniversary in June also. That means I'll be babysitting all 5 g/kids that night and I can hardly wait because we will be eating pizza and ice cream until we bust! No rules (within reason) apply when my g/kids are with their "MiMi".....
