Has anyone watched the cruise specials on the Travel Channel? Over the winter I taped Passport to "Europe's Samanths Brown's two RCL cruises, and a few others about cruising, including a cruise to Alaska. It's been really great as a first time cruiser to see close up what a ship is like, though I'm sure it's nothing like being there in person! I have a whole tape filled with cruise stuff (including Residensea) and I play it over and over again! Wish there were specials with someone touring Carnival ships! I cruise 9 weeks from today!
You touched on something that I'll bet many past cruisers will agree to. No matter how much you read on here, or in print ads, or on TV, there is nothing like being there. It is a feeling that is very hard to describe.
I am sure that is true. We can't wait to cruise in December to experience first hand what you folks are so excited about. But, I do want to say Luanne, that you did an excellent job of filling is newbies in on your "virtual cruise" post you did. That was almost like being there!
yes, I love the viretual cruises, cruise reviews, and the photos that people post. As a first timer, I'm sure I speak for all other first times who feel like dehydrated desert nomads drinking up all that we can about cruising.
I'm sure my son and I will be walking around in astonishment with wide eyes and gaping mouths. I'll be taking a photo every step of the way. I know there's nothing like being there yourself and I wish the 9 week countdown was only 9 days!!!! It's going to be a long summer till July 29th!
