Who is Cruising This Week? June 3rd to June 10th

I have been doing this every week for months now. I am always glad when some of you finally get to cruise. This week, I can say that it is our turn. We leave next weekend on the Conquest.

What about you?

Are you cruising this week?

Gofishgriff June 3rd, 2007 10:39 AM

Woo-Hoo!!! The Griffith's are cruising this week! June 9th out of Tampa on the Inspiration!!!

Happy sailing! :)

Luanne;
Are you going the day before? If so where are you staying? I have tried to get reservations at the Harbor House, but they won't let me. They say thay haven't gotten their rates for next year yet. Have a blast and wave at the web cams when you go by. LOL
Gary

Also to sassyredhat, kccruisin', and Gofishgriff congrats to all of you. Enjoy your trips. We look forward to hearing all about your adventures. LOL

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 11:57 AM

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree. We get two rooms, one for us, and one for the boys. They have a swim up bar, and a live band, around the pool. We really like staying here, but I booked last October, and a week later they were completely booked.

As I have said before. If you are going to Galveston to cruise, you need to book as early as you can.

GaryI June 3rd, 2007 12:00 PM

Luanne;
Thats what I am trying to do. I guess I will look elsewhere for my rooms. Harbor House is a bit pricey. I will check out the Holiday Inn Sun Spree.
Thanks
Gary

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 12:01 PM

If you need help picking, let me know. We have stayed in Many down there. LOL

GaryI June 3rd, 2007 12:05 PM

I probably will. LOL I just checked the Hoilday Inn that you talked about. It dosn't show anything on line. I may just give them a call.
Gary

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 12:06 PM

Go to Galveston.com They will pull up all the hotels there for you to see, and will give details.

Thanks for your well wishes, we will be leaving on Wednesday, June 6th to stay overnight in Galveston. We will be staying at the Harbor House; never stayed there, but here it's a great location near the pier and good accommodations

Can you also park the car there for the week?
We sail from Galveston in Nov.

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 12:25 PM

Yes, we do park the car there. It sure makes it easier for us, and less expensive.

Many of the motels have a cruise package, but in the last year, many have done away with the shuttle service. Galveston is a very small town. The cruise shuttle was eating into the profits of the Taxis, so many motels have stopped doing it. Because the island is so small. No matter where you stay the Taxi is never very much.

Yes you can! However, you need to book the hotel through Galveston.com in order to do so for free. Otherwise it's $10/day.

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 12:41 PM

No not true at all!!! I do not book through Galveston.com, because they don't have the cheapest rates. I use the web site to see what is available.

Are you talking about the Harbor House? When I called them and inquired about the free parking for our cruise, the front desk/reservationist told me in order the the parking to be free, I had to secure the reservation through Galveston.com. Hmmm, well what's done is done.:)

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 12:57 PM

That's a new one on me. How long ago was this?

lonnie2086 June 3rd, 2007 01:02 PM

I booked two rooms in April.

Luanne Russo June 3rd, 2007 01:20 PM

I have never heard of that. I am sorry you had to pay.

Well, it all comes out to about the same in the end! If you get a break on the rooms, you still pay $40.00 for the parking whether it's on the hotel lot are one of many other cruise pier lots. At least I don't have to pay for parking. I double checked my reservation when they sent me an email this morning. Thanks for your input though :)
