My husband and I went on the conquest jan /03 and we loved it.WE are planning another cruise in august 07 but are having a hard time deciding who to go with.Should we go with carnival again or try royal caribbean. If carnival which ship?I t would have to be in august .Thankyou for your help. Deanna
Honestly, either cruise line would be fine. We love both cruise lines and would love to be on either of them. They are the only 2 we will sail on from here on out. If you haven't sailed the Western Caribbean yet, I would recommend going that route. Grand Cayman is one of our favorite ports. Take care and happy cruising to you!!!

Since you've already done the Western on the Conquest, try an Eastern or a Southern route on either cruise line.
The Eastern and Southern Caribbean will give you more of the island atmosphere than the Western does.
If you choose to go on Royal Caribbean, try one of their Voyager class ships, nothing can compare to these.

which port do you use; is there a preference on ports.
if you want to try Royal carribbean; Enchantment of the Seas is awesome; Radiance is a more beautiful ship, but I had way more fun on the Enchantment.
if you are used to the Conquest sized Carnival ships you may not like their older/smaller ships; however, I have had the most fun on Imagination sailing out of Miami; the Ocho Rios/Key West iteniary is my favorite.

It's difficult to advise you, as we don't know if you have a port preference, or if you can fly to any port and sail. You've done the Conquest, so I'd recommend that you try one of the Spirit class ships. (our personal favorites) These ships are a bit smaller, and the pool area is nicer IMO, and the service is always excellent. We love the "Miracle" which is currently sailing out of New York City, but it's coming back to Ft. Lauderdale in the Fall, and you could sail the Eastern Route on her. The Carnival "Legend" sails out of Tampa, and it's also Spirit class, but does the Western.
Royal Caribbean would be O.K. as well, but the prices will be considerably higher, and IMO they aren't any better. (in fact, unless you like to climb rock walls, and ice skate they aren't as good) The Voyager class ships are different, but remind me of sailing in a mall. I'd rather sail aboard a ship.
Whichever you choose, have a great cruise.
If you liked the Conquest then you should like the Glory. I have never sailed Royal but have many friends that have and they liked it also. You might find it to be a little more expensive though. By the way, the Glory does do the eastern route which is a nice group of ports.
Good luck!

The new passport rules go into effect Jan 1, 2008. If you are cruising over seas than you will need a passport now. I would suggest you get a passport now. If you are on a cruise and someone needs to fly home for an emergency a passport will be required now..
