Default miami hotels

Hi guys

We are sailing on Carnival next February over spring break. We are going to go down a day early and stay a day later so we would like a decent hotel that isn't to far from the cruise terminal.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As a side note and don't laugh I have a huge dislike of the lovely palmetto bugs. Please make it clean.

thanks so much
Elaine

I'm needing to book something for this September too. I've heard of the Bayside area...

Thanks!!

we have stayed at the sea view, never again, and will be staying at the beacon hotel in south beach before and after our cruise in sept. it came highly recommended as a 4 star and with aarp or aaa discounts came in at average $140 per day which is pricey, but we wanted to stay in south beach

i have posted the same question and everyone seems to agree that the Holiday Inn Downtown is one of the best. I have booked it for next March at the cost of 160.93. This was an advanced rate with no refund.

We tried to book the Holiday Inn for next February 16 but it is sold out for the boat show that week. Most of the other hotels in the area received bad reviews from TripAdvisor so I think we are just going to stay in Ft Lauderdale then take the Express to the port unless someone comes up with another good hotel.

You may want to give Priceline a try and bid on something in the downtown Miami area. I've stayed at the Radisson which is a short ride to Bayside and the pier.

I stayed in the Radisson Downtown. They had a shuttle for a fee. I can remember exact cost, but it was under $10. About 10 min drive. Hotel nice - very clean!

Hi Elaine....I'm not sure if Carnival offers a pre or post cruise like Royal Caribbean, but you should call them and ask if they do, if the do offer the pre or post cruise vacation they can add the price of the hotel in your cruise package, and they make all the arrangements for you. Happy Cruising!

My favourite hotel in Miami is a couple of blocks from Bayside MarketPlace, so close to the pier. It's the InterContinental Hotel Bayside.

I've often had great luck booking it with Priceline. Bidding 4 star Miami, downtown zone, you can usually get it for $100 to $150.

we also got the intercontinental for 125.00 on Hotwire.

We loved the hotel, loved the view, loved the location...Paying 30.00 a night for parking was a little steep, but we had rented a car to drive out to the Everglades and it was worth it.

In January 2006 we stayed at the Courtyard Downtown ~ Priceline $50. It was very clean and a very decent hotel. The area around it wasn't great but for just the night it was fine and had a shuttle to the port.

Elaine, we stayed at the Days Inn near the port. It was disgustingly dirty and all 8 of us slep in our clothes that night with our shoes on. There was no place else for us to go as we got in late from California. Roaches were all over the place and the place stunk. Pay the extra money and book early for a nice place. Good luck,

Hilton is 3 miles away from the port.
