Default How can I get an upgrade from an inside cabin?

My family will be cruising on 10/07/07 on the Conquest. We have 2 balcony, and one inside cabin. What can we do to get our agent to upgrade to a window or balcony cabin ? We booked through a Carnival agent and this will be our second cruise on the Carnival.

Is your inside cabin guaranteed or did you by the exact cabin number outright?

Whip out the wallet and release some $$$. That should do it.

We just told the agent what kind of cabin we wanted, then he booked it ad gave us a cabin number. I don't know if it is guaranteed or not.

If you have a cabin #, then it is not a guarantee.

yep.. what Irish Shark said... you need to call your travel agent back and tell the person you want to move from the inside to a balcony. Hopefully, you will get a break on the price and a room can be found near your other cabins.

Thanks for the info. The inside cabin is for my son and his wife. I paid for the inside cabin. If more money have to be paid, he will have to pay it. Or he can enjoy my balcony when I'm not using it

OK, now I have a question. We booked thru Carnival and got a balcony room and an interior state room directly across the hall. The lady at Carnival told me the cabin numbers for each room, I assumed that was a guarantee that I would get those rooms. Is this not the case?

I know - a newby question............

Ahhh. I see the confusion... Yes you are guaranteed to get those exact cabins. The OP was referring to a guaranteed booking which guarantees you a certain level/cabin type which if possible the magic upgrade fairy can bump you from a regular balcony up a deck or so or to a suite.

any chance for an upgrade will come if you let Carnival pick your cabin. Call the TA back and change it to let Carnival choose and you may get upgraded. I always book a 1A inside and have always been bumped to a better cabin.
