I have asked this before and I did get replies on this...I understand that someone has been able to take a 12 pack on board. I wanted to know about 2 liters? So far I haven't heard anything about that yet. When or if I do, I will let you know.

I believe the policy states: "a reasonable amount". What's reasonable to you and me, may not be reasonable to Carnival. I'm sailing in July, so if no answer comes up before then, I'll let you know what I see at the port.
I too have been reading back and forth on this. Hopefully a 12-pack is no problem. From reading different topics, as far as it being checked and confiscated, I've gotten the impression you can get away with more stuff in the checked baggage vs. carry on. I'm leaving on the 18th. I'll report back on what I see.
Hubby packed a 36-pack of diet Pepsi and not a word was said. On to of that we each (4) had 6 or 7 1-liter bottles of Ozarka water in each suitcase. All was unpacked and placed on a nightstand for easy access, iow we didn't hide it. Hubby ended up toting back about half of his Pepsi's back home and about 5 bottles of water was left. There was an abundance of gratis beverages, coffee and tea always available. (We don't drink alcohol.)

Until this last cruise (post liquid carryon rules), we would carry two six-packs of soda in our carryon luggage with no problems whatsoever.
I understand these questions, but I do have to wonder about tying up space with significant amounts of soda when Carnival has a soda card for adults available. For about $6 per day, you can buy a card that lets you get all the sodas that you want - granted, it is a little expensive, but you always have fresh, iced cola when you want it. Heck, you can even both get by with one card (theoretically) since you can get a coke a one bar, then walk to another bar and get a second coke.
For going off ship, my wife would get glasses of soda without ice, then pour it into an empty bottle or two that we would pack into the luggage.
Personally, I drink water, when not imbibing.

Okay, I just got off the Conquest. I'm not a VIP with Carnival and I didn't have a suite, so I didn't get any special check-in privileges. I taped luggage tags on 2 cases of water and 2 twelve packs of Diet Dr Pepper. Nothing was said and all of it was delivered to my cabin.
Hope this helps!
If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance!
We always take a 12 pack of Pepsi and bottled water with no problems.
MTSFP, We just pack our Pepsi and water in our carry on and use that empty space for our souvenirs. We only drink 2/day so a soda card would too expensive for us and you can't get Pepsi products either.
