I know, how does rum cakes and Carnival fit together--chill out, just give me a moment to get into it. I was on the Victory in January and they sold Tortuga rum cakes, however, we were going to Grand Cayman so we bought the rum cakes while we were there instead. I will be on the Triumph in September and I REALLY want to get me some rum cakes, but I don't know if all the Carnival ships sell the rum cakes or not.
I could go the easy way and order them on the website, but there in US$ and shipping in involved, so I'd rather be patient and buy them on the ship...unless I can buy them in San Juan, St. Thomas, or Grand Turk.
Conquest Feb 2008
Yes. rum cakes are good! I brought the mini cakes back to my office workers and they were thrilled. I filled an entire HUGE suitcase with rum cakes and now they are gone and I didn't get a slice of the chocolate one!
I know I bought some at the gift shop onboard the Conquest and I think they said all of the caribbean sailings had them. Let me know if they have them in your ports, I haven't been there..........YET!
If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance!
If you REALLY need a fix. Yes shipping is high but someone might be willing to pay it.
We bought some on board the Conquest and on shore. The cost wasn't that different so we bought MORE on the ship. Dh said next time we're taking a small suitecase and fill it with cakes to bring home, lol.

The first shop I stopped at in Grand Cayman offered to deliver them to the ship so you didn't have to carry them around the island. That's where I bought mine. BUT, that didn't stop me from sampling EVERY flavor at EVERY other shop on the strip.
