What are my options for getting from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral?

How much and how long is the ride?

you can pay for the carnival transfers, which pick you up at the Orlando airport and take you to Port Canaveral. $35 per person each way. Arrange this with Carnival or have your TA arrange it for you.

that's what I'm doing when I arrive for the cruise.

after the cruise, since I'm not flying home till the following day, I'm going to get a rental car that is at the port (my TA is looking into that for me now) rather than take the transfer to the airport again.

Shuttle service is good if you are flying in the same day. You will have to wait for the bus to fill up and then it is a 45 minute to 1 hour ride to PC. We rented a car from Budget. Their return is the closest to the port and they have a free shuttle to and from the port.

do you know how much the shuttle service is? i don't use carnival transports if there is a financially reasonably alternative b/c i don't want to wait for the bus to fill up then get off the bus and stand in line with upwards of 50 other people. I prefer the shuttles.

The cars will cost you about $40 plus gas.

I just got back from my Port Canaveral cruise. I used Around the Clock USA shuttle service. It was $30 each way. They were very courteous. They leave every half hour. My flight arrived at 11:40AM and i caught the 12 noon shuttle. The trip to the port is every bit of 45 minutes. The shuttle was empty on the ride home. If you miss your time you just take the next shuttle. Very convenient.

We rented a car and the next day we turned it in near the port and after the cruise we rented a car again and drove back to the airport. With a group of 4 people we spent $70 total instead of $280 for transfers.

O.K. I am going with a VTG singles cruise. If I find someone on their boards that will be arriving when I do, I may look into getting a car pool together and just having one of us drive to the port and turn the car in there.

Does that sound doable?
