Default Spirit Alaska August 22 - Vancouver with a toddler

My husband an I are travelling with our very active 2 year old on the Spirit. We chose Carnival because the kids program starts a 2 yrs of age as opposed to many others with a 3 yr minimum.

Will we actually be able to use the kids program with comfort.
We have an obstrctued view cabin without a balcony, we were nervouse about having any possible access to a ledge with our climber.
Are we crazy?
Can we ever expect adult time?

We would appreciate comments from others who have experienced the same.
