My family and I just got off the Valor yesterday and let me tell you, from a ship and staff point of view, it is by far the best we have ever been on. The Cruise Director, Kelly Gibson was superb. Her staff of Brad, Hurricane and Lauren were outstanding. The ship has a great setup with two dining areas easily accessable, Huge Lido area, nice kids water slide..etcc..I could go on and on. Activities for the kids were top notch. there was 1000 kids on our ship and you didnt see themmuch as they were kept busy.
probably the best thing I can say about our cruise was how the staff handled the man over board situation. There was a sense of urgency yet, the staff remained calm and conveyed calmness throughout the ordeal.
We would reccommend this ship to anyone, exceptionally if you do the Eastern Carib. Great ports!
We were on the valor in april. The ship was very clean...the food was great and there was alot of it. We thought the staff was very nice and went out of their way to help you. The only bad thing I can say is the kids took over the "adult only" hot tub. The 24 hr pizza was really good and I loved the coffee shops.....they had the best chocolate covered strawberries.
You are right about the kids , We had a lot also, and we never saw them, it was the first cruise I did not have them all over me like ants, They kept those kids so busy, and out of sight. It must have been an awesome program, a lot of my other cruise the kids found the elevater buttons more amusing.
Valor again Yahoo!
I just returned from the Valor (E. Carribbean itinerary) on the 24th-the ship is extremely clean and I don't think we passed a crew member anywhere on the ship that didn't speak to us and smile. There were supposedly over 1000 kids on the ship (2 of them mine) but I never saw very many kids anywhere. The food was great--especially the Fish n Chips and the Deli, the burgers, well, everything! We had Ariel and Raj in the dining room and they were exceptional and extremely friendly. Had a great cruise-would cruise the Valor again! We also witnessed the search and rescue of the man overboard-the crew and Captain did a great job.
Sailing on the Valor will not disappoint you, the ship is beautiul and clean, staff is outstanding, food wonderful...my favorite Carnival ship to sail on. Where in the western Caribbean are you sailing to?
I just found this web site and I was on the carnival valor and me and my boy friend were the ones who witnessed the 27 year old man fall off from the balcony right in front of us on the 7th deck balcony and he didn't make a peep as he fell into the ocean. I ran to call the emergency number while my boyfriend screamed stop the ship and watched to see if the man came back up from hitting the water at a belly flop. We tried to see him at the infirmary, but they would not let us in. We hope all is well with him now if anyone knows who this man is and would like to email us feel free.
