Default Where do they start for calling floors for going home

I have always used self assist. On our next cruise we have a real late flight at 3:45 pm so we figure we should try and stay on board as long as possible. Do you have to leave when your floor is called, or can you wait till after your floor is called and go with the last floor? Also do they start with the high decks or low decks first?

As far as I know, they still start with the highest decks first and work down.
We were on lowest passenger deck (deck 4 in our case) but left when they called the Empress deck 7 level since most of the cabins in our group booking were on that deck. Going at the time that they call your floor just makes it easier (I guess) to find your luggage since it is all separated by your assigned floor.

There really is no set order each and every time.

Once your color of luggage tag is called you can stay on the ship, and go off with the last group called... no problem.

Just remember to look for the luggage in the area of the color tag you had, as it will remain there.

From what we were told on both of our previous cruises, the order of decks (color of luggage tags) is up to the Port Authority/Customs Officials.
Therefore, the order will vary from cruise to cruise and week to week.
Our first cruise, the Empress deck was first deck called.
The 2nd, the Empress deck was the 4th deck called.

In Port Canaveral, there is two separate staging areas for the luggage.
So like Kuki said, make sure to pay attention to which side to go for your color luggage tag.

Any idea why I would have different color luggage tags for two cabins right next to each other?

Thanks,

Brian

I have stayed on the ship past Noon with no problems. It made it a lot easier to find my luggage when I got off.

I have also gotten of very early and made it to work on time. (After a weekend cruise)

can i just do self assist but leave when the last group is called. I hate to think my luggage would sit unattended with everyone grabbing hopefully their own bags and mind just left there. I would much rather hold onto my bags all morning and just leave when they start pushing me down the hallway to get off.
