cell phone use in the Bahamas...

I saw this on a bahamas travel slte, don't know if it's true

Those of you who don’t leave the house without your cell phone will find that it’s easy to keep in touch while visiting The Islands Of The Bahamas. BaTelCo has roaming agreements with many companies from the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Roaming rates are $3.00 per day and 99¢ per minute, and will be billed through your home carrier. In order for you, as a non-BaTelCo subscriber, to receive calls while in The Islands Of The Bahamas, the caller must dial 1-242-359-7626, wait for the second tone and then dial your number.

If anyone stopping in the Bahamas over the next few weeks tries this let me know if it works, as I"ll be there July 29-31.

Tho I can't be certain, I suspect the charges Michelle was talking about only apply if you RECEIVE a call there.
