Default S&S Card

Thanks for letting me post each of my questions as I think of them.

One quick one.... my 15 y.o. niece is sharing a cabin with her grandmother (my Mom). The rest of her family is in another cabin. For recordkeeping purposes, is there a way for my niece's charges to go on my sister's S&S account instead of her grandmother's? Is that something we can ask at the Purser's desk or is it not possible?

Thanks for your help!

When you check in, before boarding the ship, they check all the documents. You can use whichever credit card you want to secure a S & S card. That is not a problem. Have fun!

If you did "paper documents" when you fill out the "Sign & Sail Account and Guest Ticket Contract Acknowledgment" sheet, you can specify who, if anyone, is allowed to sign against your credit card. Just put the girls name, and have her sign your sisters account instead of her grandmothers. There shouldn't be any problem if you do it that way.

Have a great cruise,

Ken

Can anyone tell me if there is any reason for my 10 year old to have a S&S Card? Do they use it in Camp Carnival for anything?

I would rather she not have one. We are getting her a soda card, so she can get soda anytime she wants, but I can't see a 10 year old with a S&S card, that is like giving her my credit card.

Your daughter will need it as ID to get on and off the ship. It is part of the ship's roll call/head count for passengers.

You can specify that no charges are to be made on her card, or put a limit per day on the charges she can make, if any. I carried my daughter's S & S card while both on and off the ship since she didn't have a wallet or similar.

If you are a minor and use your card in the arcade to get tokens, it has a per day limit so your kids can't wipe you out!

I think it was $20 per day, but someone else might have to confirm that. Other than that, there are plenty of shops, but it sounds as though you want to be with her when she goes shopping.

Good luck.

all passengers need a Sail and Sign card for ID on the ship, even little bitty babies, but you can always control the amount to be charged.

I was sitting with a family on our first cruise, and her grand son bought her a gift with his card. 6,000.00 dollar bracelet. He was so proud, she almost had a heart attack. (She was able to return it)

that is why I don't want my daughter who is 10 to have money on her S&S card. I will maybe put a limit on it, this way when Camp Carnival goes to the arcade, she can play.
