Default Carnival Triumph

Hey All...

Sailing on the Triumph in a few months and have a couple questions.

1) I'll be in category 9A which is a stateroom at the stern of the ship. Has anyone been in these staterooms on the Triump...if so what can you tell me about the size and amount of privacy of these balconies? If anyone has actually pictures of the staterooms and balconies on the Triump in category 9A I'd love to see them.

2) Bar drinks on board - what is the approximate price per mixed drink? Does anyone have a recent bar menu online?

3) Private Island - Has anyone rented a cabana on Carnival's private island? I'm interested in renting one and was looking for people's input if they thought that it was worth the price and what the price included. Again, pics would be wonderful!

Many Thanks in Advance!

Hi CandySpy

We are cruising the Sat after Thanksgiving....nov 24-dec 1st. It will be my first time on Carnival, still very uncertain on what to expect from the whole adventure!

Happy cruising!

Hi, we are leaving on Dec. 1! This is my 3rd time on Carnival. The first 2 times though the ships were newer and bigger. And my parents have been on Carnival but it was the smaller ships a long time ago. I hope the ship is nice, although it is a very port intensive itinerary so you're not really on the ship as much during the day.
Are you planning any excursions?

Sailed on the Triumph last October on the western, very nice ship and staff.
I was in 8E in an aft cabin directly over the props and it was great.
If I remember, drinks were around 3.50 except for specialty drinks.
Don't know what you are wanting to know about privacy. No one can see in unless they stretch out over the rail and around the balcony divider, which can be done. We always prop our balcony door open all night. No one has bothered us yet.

Hi Nashua...
We haven't ever stayed in one of the staterooms with the balcony. However we did rent one of the cabanas on the private island. They were nice, however I wouldn't do it again. I do rent the float..if for no other reason than it makes the beach chair that much more comfy. As far as the cabanas if you want to be able to lay in the sun..and also get in the shade they are great. I didn't find that I used it all that much. I have found I have a better view of the water from the area that just has chairs. If you don't get on the island early to get a cabana..you may find yourself just looking at the rows of cabanas in front of you.
As far as the drink prices..I didn't find them any more expensive than drinks here at home. A mixed drink...say a frozen margarita was something like 5 or 6 dollars..and they always have a special of the day also!
Hope this helps.
Happy Sailing!

Webshots may have pics of a 9A cabin. I'll be on the same ship in September too. I am so looking forward to Half Moon Cay. I want to spread a towel and do some tanning...uhmm, well try to.....I hope to be able to go in the water, but it'll be iffy since I am travelling solo...

well heres what i could find:

Cat 9A
Verandah Deck, Empress Deck, Upper Deck
Square Feet: Approx. 175

Every Carnival guest is assured of spacious, comfortable accommodations. All staterooms have carpeting, ample drawer and closet space, private facilities (shower, basin and toilet), telephone and color television showing first-run films. Our SuperLiners all feature staterooms above ocean level for a more comfortable cruise.

as far as I know, go thru your booking agent and see what is available - you'll just have to pay the difference. There IS a cut off date though.
