Default how far in advance can you book a cruise?

Does Carnival know what their cruse itineraries will be as far in the future as 2011? Or is there a limit such as 2 years ayears, 18 months, ahead, etc.?

I've heard you can book your next cruise while you're on your current one and they will give you an OBC for it. Is that still true?

If so, I will book the cruise if they will let me.

You can book the moment it becomes possible for you to do so. Sometimes as much as 18 months -2years in advance. The 1/09 Splendor around Cape Horn just became available. You can no longer book aboard CCL ships...but that's still the case on other lines.

Once you have cruised, you will receive via the US mail all kinds of offers to entice you to book with them for future crusies. When we took our first cruise with RCCL in '92 and our second cruise with CCL in '97, the offers started coming at least once a year. I still will occasionally receive one via the mail addressed to me and my x and we've been divorced for years.....lol.

So, Michelle, as excited as you are (and are making me) about your cruise in a few short days, do you really think you are going to be able to hold out until 2011? It will never happen. You will be on a ship one way or the other by this time next year!!!

You will find a way.

2011? You are the early bird. well at least its better than last minute like most of our clients here. The furthest my system has for CCL is 12/27/2009. However some itineraries come later than other and vice versa. So the real question is where do you wanna go?

Good luck and happy cruise hunting

ibcruisin: well I'm a divorced mom on a very tight budget, I was lucky enough to be able to do THIS cruise in 2 weeks. I may not be able to do one in 4 years. I KNOW I can't do one any sonner. Unless I win the lottery!

We just booked a February 2009 cruise on the Freedom for our 10th anniversary.

I believe most of the Carnival fleet has most cruises through April 2009 available right now.
2011 won't be available for a couple more years.

Beisdes, by then, half the fleet will be in different ports, as they will have added the Splendot in 2008, the Dream in 2009 and the Magic in 2011.
Plus sold off the Holiday and Celebration.

Just make certain you get travel insurance. You never, never know what can happen. I have the T-shirt for that.
