Default computer printer on ships?

I'm going to scan my passports, id's, medical insurance card, etc.
so that rather than carry extra pieces of paoer with me, I can email the scanned images to myself and get them from my yahoo account if I need to.

do they have a printer in the internet cafes?

Yes they do. However it is not free. You will have to buy some computer time.

You can't find space for 5 sheets of paper?

I copied our passports, DLs, insurance cards all on one piece of paper. I keep it in my cruise docs so no extra space used.

They will accecpt copies of your passport and photo ID? I would think that they would require to have the originals...

Michelle- Print your copies before you leave home. Store them with your docs, or place in a side compartment in your carry on, or checked luggaged. No extra weight involved.

I realize it's only a couple of pieces of paper, but I'm trying to travel as light as possible, and I only have 2 small carry-one, no checked luggage.
and also they could be lost or misplaced so scanning and emailing is a backup as well.

I printed an email while on the Inspiration, and it cost 50 cents.

BTW, if you plan on using the internet on the ship, it is EXTREMELY SLOW. I only used it for email, and it felt like I was on dial up.

They recommended that we take copies of the passports on shore and to leave the originals in the safe.

The information desk made copies for free.
