Default Hotels near Port of Miami

Can anyone recommend a "decent" hotel near the Port of Miami, or near some activities.

We are arriving in Miami at 1pm the day before our cruise. Hoped to either be really close to the port, or around an area that had some stuff for us to do while we wait for our FIRST CRUISE!! So excited.

Thanks for any input. We're hoping to keep the price under $100 for the night.

The Holiday Inn across from Bayside is probably your best option. Bayside has shopping, dining and nightlife.

I recommend using Pricline for Miami hotels.

Bid 3 STAR, downtown zone. Whichever hotel you get will be just fine, clean, and in a close proximity to the pier and to Bayside Market Place.

"Downtown" is not an option. Which one?

Not sure what you mean Irish.

Bidding on Priceline.. Miami Downtown is an option. Do you mean you don't want to stay downtown??

The Holiday Inn would be your best bet. I am booked there for our Thanksgiving cruise. They have free shuttle to the port and there is great restaurants right across the street. The address is 340 Biscayne Blvd. and the # is 800-Holiday. This will be our 3rd time staying there and we got it through the AAA Travel Book. So if you have AAA, you get a discount as well! Happy Cruising!

When did Holiday Inn start supplying shuttle service. That is cool. We have stayed there a number of times, in the past, and they did not have shuttle service.

There is a (I believe) Port of Miami Holiday Inn that we stayed at last year. THere was a big shopping a eating area across the street for something to do. Then we got a cab the next morning to take us to the ship.

Have fun

Yea Deb,
That would be Bayside Market, great place to spend some time, eat a nice dinner, etc. Its close to the pier too.

Like Kuki said, if you use Priceline, you'll get a hotel downtown, which is where you want to be to be close to the pier and Bayside. By using Priceline, you can't choose the exact hotel, but the location and the price you bid on. ITs a great money saver and you'll be getting a nice hotel as long as you go at least 3 stars.

We just booked at the Radison. The $129 price included breakfast and a shuttle to the port.

Take care!

I guess when it was Best Western before Holiday Inn bought them out, they did have free shuttle service to the port. Guess now we will have to find a cab! It has been a couple of years since we stayed there. Last time we waited too long and they were all booked up! Happy cruising!

This is a good one to stay at. Good places to eat and entertainment at the Bayside. 8) Gets you in the cruise mood if you are not already

I just changed our Sept. 2007 reservations from the Hyatt to the Marriott Biscayne Bay.

Found out that the Hyatt beginining August 4th is doing a major refacing of the hotel and a note on Trip Advisor stated that "all" balcony doors would be locked and that construction crews woould/would be outside balcony windows at anytim during the day.

Not a way I wanted to start my vacation.

The Marriott is only minuites from the Port and it is located right on the waterfront. Got a great room for $129.00 and the people on the reservation phone line were wonderful.

Here's a link to their website.
