Default Formal Night on the Ecstasy!

Hey everyone, I need your advice. When we went on the Conquest in 2005 we bought a tux for my husband. Now my concern is will he be overdressed if he wears his tux? It seems like most of the post that I have read regarding this ship seem to indicate that it is more informal than most. Even the ships review gave me that impression. We already have the tux and my husband loves to wear it, but I just don't want him to be overdressed.

While there will be fewer men in tuxes than on the Conquest, hubby won't be the only one in a tux. Wear it.

Wear the tux. It feels good to look grand.

Default Formal Night Attire

Let him wear what he feels comfortable in.....9-2006 cruise on the Ecstasy, my boyfriend wore a gray suit w/tie. I really didn't see that many men in Tux and only 2 ladies in long dresses (late dinner seating).

Let me know if you'd like to see a picture of what we wore.
Send me a PM.

If he loves to wear it, then have him wear it. I LOVE to get dressed up and I wish when we went on our last cruise we could have afforded to get all the boys tuxes, but alas, we chose to use our money toward shore excursion stuff! However, it was fun to see my 11 year old and 18 year old choose (on their own, mind you!) to dress up the last night of the cruise to dine in the dining room!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am pretty sure that he will wear his Tux. He really does like to get all dressed up!

What an absolutely gorgeous family portrait. All of you look gorgeous and handsome. Whoever thought of how to pose everyone was a genius.

Thanks, badknees! I thought the photographer did a great job 'posing' us! We hadn't had a family portrait since the time we only had 3 kids, so I really wanted to get a dressed up picture of everyone...ended up having to get a few though!
This is SO totally my 11 year old!
And this one is my baby...her big sister caught this:

We made so many good memories on this trip!

Those are beautiful pictures and I can tell you all had a wonderful time on your cruise! Our son and his wife and 10 year old daughter will be with us on our cruise. We don't have any family poitraits either and I can't wait to get one!

I don't know about Ecstacy but last year on the Victory my husband rented a tux from the cruise lines. He was so handsome and did not care that were not a lot of other men wearing them. When we go on the Glory in Dec he plans on renting again. This is so conveinent not having to pack a suit or tux. You can bring a different tie and/or vest if you choose for the 2nd formal night and wear the same tux. I vote for the tux if that is what he wants.

We already have the tux and am not worried about having to pack it, I just didn't want him to be the only man in a tux. So, I guess it is definately the TUX. (Now I have to talk my son into getting one.)

There apparently aren't as many tux as there used to be on cruises but my husband has one and likes to wear it on a cruise for formal night. That's about the only chance he gets to wear it. He looks very handsome. I have seen women dressed very formally and their husbands or sig others in a suit and I don't care either way. So if you want to dress up a lot do it. It's fun for an evening. I am amazed at how great a man looks in a tux. I saw one man in a white dinner jacket on our last cruise and he was the only one but it's a great idea and why not. We were in the Caribbean.
